Canon's PowerShot A2400 IS Digital Camera (Black) is a 16Mp point-and-shoot with the company's impressive DIGIC 4 Image Processor for exceptional images. In addition to capturing high-quality stills, the A2400 also records 720p HD video and it features a dedicated movie button for quick, uncomplicated recording. And in the name of simplicity, the camera also has Canon's Smart AUTO functionality, which automatically selects the camera settings based on 32 predefined shooting situations.
The 28mm wide-angle lens boasts optical image stabilization and 5x optical zoom. Intelligent IS automatically chooses from six different modes to optimize image stabilization, while the Help Button provides you with simple explanations and easy control of settings. Scene modes also come in handy for fun and creative effects like Super Vivid and Miniature Effect.
I purchased this Powershot A2400is to replace my A1100is which needed repair. I was happy to see that the camera operated much like my previous camera so there wasn't a big learning curve. I downloaded the complete users guide to help with any new features I wasn't familiar with. I was happy to see that the battery took only about 2 hours to charge which will be most convenient when taking this camera on vacation. I will say that the size of this camera is very small compared to my previous camera. It has taken some getting used to. I wrap the wrist strap tighly so as not to drop it. This will just take practice and finding a new camera case to suit its size. All in all, this was a great purchase and it's my 4th Canon camera.
Most of my friends are impressed with the quality of my pictures.
I use this as my grab and go for shooting prople and interest filler shots at events and such. The construction is on par with more expensive Point & Shoot models and the size is perfect. The colors are excellent as is usually the case with Canon cameras in general. I get really good photos with the A2400 most of the time and battery life has been good for me with the A2400 I own. The down side to cameras this small is the camera body movement involved when you click off a shot. This comes up more in lower light situations where you're trying to grab a shot without a flash. If the subject is not moving let the 2-second timer be your friend!! The A2400 doesn't do great in low light situations but for the price Adorama sells these for, who cares!!
It is a great little camera PowershotA2400IS for taking pictures of all kinds of different things I sell on line. I'm always getting feedback about my pictures and that is why they bought my product instead of the computations. Thank You Canon
This product was purchased for use in photodocumentation. Majority of photos are still shots. Zoom is not used much but does seem of good quality. It is compact, attractive, and was very affordable for the quality.
Cool with lots of different settings and effects to use and experiment with.
Picture view button is quite convenient. You push only the one button and it turns the camera on and displays the stored pictures.
Have not had this camera very long so did not use it alot but so far am well pleased with it. So small and convenient to take along anywhere.
Other than flexibility in choosing the best option other than automatic, this is a nice, easy to use camera.
