Although it was kind of pricey, all the reviews I had read on much cheaper options indicated they did not work very well. So I decided to get this for my T2i to use for a photobooth we setup for my wedding. It worked great, with no issues at all and we had a great time with the photobooth! I do have a battery extender for the T2i, and had to cut a small square out of the side of it for the cord, but it worked great with the extender. If you don't have one, there is a small rubber flap that accomodates the square perfectly.

The main reason I purchased the Canon AC adapter kit is I do astroimaging. Photography of the moon, planets, galaxies, nebulas and comets. With the addition of the Canon ACK-E8 AC adapter there is no more battery changing during a long imaging session. No more noise caused by the battery heat. It doesn't die in cold temperatures like the batteries do. And I'm sure I will use it during other types of imaging.

After shopping around and reading reviews about this and other adapter kits, we decided to go with the "real thing" and are happy we did.We use it at home to save on the battery's life as well as when traveling. It is very easy to use with a rechargeable power source when traveling by car.

We always use canon brand AC adapters rather than the cheap ones you get get at nearly one tenth the price. The latter seem to fail a lot and the canon ones have never let us down. While we despise the high price point, they always work.
