My first battery grip, so I don't have much to compare it to (other than the one that came with my used Canon 1-N film camera, but that doesn't count). I've used it for a few weeks, and it seems pretty solid. The only issue I've noticed so far is since I've installed the battery grip, the main shutter button on my 40D has been sticking. However, this could be just something with the camera, since I was using it in the cold for a long duration. When it stuck, I switched over to the shutter button on the grip, and it worked fine. A little more investigation is in order, especially since I bought the 40D used and do not yet know how it performs in warm weather. Is there even such a thing any more? :)

Well built, adds weight to camera due to the 2 batteries, works every bit as well as the OEM part.

This grip stays on my camera at all times. I've had no problems with it and although it is bulky, not any more so than any other one would be(Canon as an example). It is rugged and well designed, but the instructions leave a little to be desired. I would have wished for clearer instructions on where and how to store the camera battery door. Not a deal breaker, and I got through it OK. You just can't beat the price.

I use this on my 20D and I have one on my 40D they work great . Improves the feel and balance of the camera as well as doubleing the battery time. The controls to allow you to shoot portrat without doing contortions to reach the cameras controls is really nice.

At first used with just two lithium Canon batts. Then I decided to try the AA adapter. So far, I've never killed the AAs in a day. I'm using NiMH rechargeables. Camera is 50D. Love the access to controls when shooting portrait. Just wish occasionally that the ISO button was also on it.

I was very impressed with the functionality and performance of this product. Compared to the Canon battery grip, it was a real bargain and performed flawlessly. I would recommend it.

This was my first purchase of a Flashpoint product. At first I thought I had ordered something from an overseas [@]dealer... then I finally saw a small sticker that said, "Flashpoint." This product has worked so far, but seems to be as low quality as any cheap international junk you get on [@]. The switches do not move cleanly. The plastic is thin and low grade. I just pray the electronics don't mess up my camera.Bottom line: Don't waste your money on this. Get something decent.

Makes it eazy to take a lot of pictures without the worry of a low battery.

I use this battery grip as I have long fingers and need the extra battery in the camera - I do a variety of photography in my business - portrait, family/lifestyle, newborns, sports photography. This product works exactly the same as the OEM product - I have tried both as I believe in OEM parts. However in this case - the aftermarket product is absolutely equal. Why pay the extra cost - the battery vertical grip does not increase your burst rate, all it does is provide extra battery life (need the xtra battery of course) and give you more buttons. This only thing you miss out on is the little Canon label at the bottom of the grip. Another pro is that the rubber grip actually feels grippier than the Canon grip.

This was my second one I have bought. They are great and work without any problems. Fit just like they should. Have not had any problems with either one.

Delivers all the functionality of the Canon manufactured battery grip for a mere fraction of the price. Can't beat that!

I bought this for a used 40D that I had just purchased. This is a bargain compared to the Canon version. Looks great, works exactly as it is supposed to. I do primarily nature and wildlife photography, hauling my gear into the backcountry. No problems at all with this grip.

Very similar to Canon's battery grip but not quite as well constructed. However, you can't beat the price!

I bought this primarily for the ability to be able to use AA batteries in my Canon 50D (camping trips that don't always allow for recharging conveniences). I've only used it for a short time but initial impressions are very good. Build quality seems solid, features are nice and well thought out (a place to keep the battery door when removed from camera is a nice touch)and very easy to operate.

Works as designed. The Camera battery door fits inside the handle so you don't have to put it where you'll forget it.

Having purchased quite a few Flashpoint products in the past, from studo flash heads to lens hoods, i have yet to be disappointed. Only recieved this grip in the mail yesterday. overall, straight out of the box... impressed. seems to be well built. Had no problems connecting it to my 30D. Which now makes it feel like a 1D. Have only shot a couple of images with it. Everything seems to be working fine. The shutter release, focus lock all seem to be working the same as the camera. All functions seem smooth and quick in response. Time will tell, according to some of the other reviews that I have read. Flashpoint products are great for being on a budget, as most of us are. Great product, you can't beat the price... Only gave it 4/5 because I've only had it for one day...

Bought this for the extra battery and vertial grip for shooting sports. Opened the box put it on my 40D and immediately the camera wouldn't fire, using the camera controls or the grip controls. Even the focus was working about 50%. Took it off and everything was back to normal. Returned the product.

Best bang for your buck, I brought one last year for my 50D and just purchased the one for my 40D second camera. Both units work very well and have never given me any trouble. I have one loaded with cannon batteries and one with Flash Point batteries and I use them interchangeably on both cameras. The one con, the included AA battery magazines don't work with rechargeable batteries, I haven't tried alkalines yet. It does the job it's supposed to do for a lot less than the Cannon power grip, it's well made and durable.

This is a good quality alternative for the Canon battery packs.

The quality appeared to be well made. Definitely, sure beats the price of Canon OEM grip. The only thing is that the focus lock, and the focus points selector buttons are a little mushy. Other than that, it seems to be good so far.

When I decided to get a battery grip for my Canon EOS 50D, I pursued purchasing a Canon BG-E2N and could not find one anywhere. I finally went to a local camera store and tried one. The store was charging about $ and I had seen them online for about $, so I tried the Internet again[...] to try the Flashpoint Professional Battery Grip. I did and it is fantastic. It feels even better than Canon's. I have no complaints and have never run out of battery power, even on a day trip where I shot 550 Large format pictures, with the Auto Focus and IS on for all of those 550 shots. After using it, I would have paid far more than the [$] Adorama sells it for.

I have 2 eos digital SLRs and have the Cannon grip on one and the Flashpoint on the other and I can't tell which is which , because there is almost no difference. Except of course the price.

The shutter button on the first one quit working mid game. The second has worked fine until just recently when it too showed hints of the shutter button not working. It has not failed yet but was somewhat unresponsive occasionally at a recent game.

Was I surprised to find a good battery grip for this price. Easily installed and fits great on my 50D. Sure make vertical shots easier and helps with the longer 100-400mm L series lens.

Works fine, fits snugly, but not quite the quality of one by Canon. A good value for the price, however.

This grip feels solid. I couldn't understand the price of the "official" grip, and this is cheap enough to buy and get 2 extra batteries for the same price. Fit & finish are very very good. The shutter button feels identical (best i can tell) to the one on the camera. The two other buttons don't have as much resistance and push in farther then the corresponding buttons on the camera, but feels fine. The grip does not have a AF button however, neither does the "official" grip. I'd highly ...
