Bought this so I could use AA batteries if the rechargeable batteries are out of power. I always have AA batteries for my flash. It seems to work great and has a nice feel. Rebel is sort of a backup so price was the reason I didn't buy the Cannon grip. Very please with it.

I bought the wrong model for my camera and it didn't fit. I returned the item and the refund process was simple and quick. I purchased the correct model and it fits and works perfectly. Great service.

Great Value. This has a great rubber grip, perfectly contoured for hands. Buttons work perfectly. used it for about a year so far and its still going strong. It also comes with a second tray that uses AA batteries.

It's surprisingly well built and comes with instructions and an extra carrier to use AA batteries in an emergency. Very solid and well worth the money.

I find it increases and improves the balance of the Rebel with longer lenses. It improves my abilitiy to hold the camera comfortably without adding any weight that doesn't seem to improve its balance. The AA battery clip has been an unexpected bonus and I have grown to use that a lot. My only minor gripe is that the "L" bracket I like use on my equipment does not work with this grip because the battery door is in a different place than the Canon grip. It's not a deal breaker though as I have other cameras I can mount on the tripod.

I have been interested in something to allow me to run longer and do portraits without raising my elbow way into the air. This is a really great price point and it functions exactly as advertised. Used it during the rain in the Scott Kelby Photowalk 2011 and it never missed a beat. Longer battery run time is great. Never changed them and with high cap memory cards I can slim down during the walk. Switching to portrait mode helps so much without adding strain to my elbow. Can't wait to use it during a wedding so I can slim down carring batteries. Overall I really like the unit.

Although I have not use the Canon version of this grip, I found this one to be very high quality. Fit is excellent and functions perfectly on my T1i. Highly recommend.

Works great as battery supply. This was the main reason I purchased this. The bonus aux. controls do not work with my model, (Rebel XSi), but not a problem as this is not what I got it for.

Batteries last longer and being able to use AA batteries makes it easier to use when you can't recharge the Canon batteries.

Other than the flimsy AA battery contacts the build quality on this product is impressive. The unit fits my Canon T1i with a tight, solid feel. The unit has additional controls that allow you to rotate the camera 90 degrees and operate the camera's shutter. The controls are easily defeated with an on/off switch to prevent accidental operation when the camera is held upright. Great product when you require extended battery life.

First few months of using the grip I was pleased with it. Took it with camera to Europe on a 3 week vacation. On arrival in Austria first day of shooting the trigger & other functions stopped working. Then my camera stopped working. Removed the grip and the camera worked fine. Am now ordering the Canon grip and expectations are it will work better with Canon Camera.

I bought this for both the better hand positioning for taking pictures with the camera in vertical (portrait) position, and for a little extra battery life, not to mention the backup power available with the AA battery tray. Not that I had any battery issues before this, but I like having a little reassurance and a backup. All the parts of my battery grip are in working order and everything fits and works without any problems. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my camera bag. I had intended to make the battery grip a more permanent fixture on my camera, but then my camera is an uncomfortably tight squeeze into my camera bag, so I tend to leave it off unless I think I may need it. Aside from issues fitting the camera with grip into my bag, I like the added bulk. The grip definitely makes shooting with the camera in the portrait position a lot nicer, especially when I remember to turn the battery grip's power on. Seriously, I'm new to all this, so don't laugh, but when I first tried out the grip I'm got a bit concerned when it wouldn't shoot. Then I noticed the power switch, and all was good. I haven't used the battery grip to much yet, though it has been great the few times I have used it. It's taking a little getting used to. I just moved to my first DSLR from a point and shoot a couple months ago, so I was just getting used to the feel of the larger camera body, so with the battery grip on, it feels massive - not 1D massive, but still quite large. The grip itself appears to be built fairly well, and installing/attaching it to the camera is quite easy, just be careful with the battery door and don't lose it when you remove it. All in all, I really like this and I'd definitely buy another one. I'm considering the purchase of another camera body in the not-too-distant future, and a battery grip will be among the first accessories I'll look for when I do. I wouldn't have a problem buying another Flashpoint grip from Adorama, and it would likely be the first I look at when I start shopping.

It was a gift for my husband who was hesitant at first about an unbranded camera grip. Nevertheless, I made the decision to buy it because it was reasonably priced and had good reviews. In the end, my husband was happy with it. Thanks Adorama

This is a must have!!! The grip not only added extended shooting time but provides a larger area for gripping the camera. This makes the camera feel more solid and allows for better portrait shots.

Added this for a new camera....thank goodness, added a little size to a small body. Love the fact that I can use my camera battery or AA's. Seems well built and the price made it an easy choice. Have a canon grip on the old camera, this one works just as well.

Superb Grip, by far better than the original from Canon, also the rubber finnish gives you extra grip and comfort like no other grip.

It works fine, fits well in the camera body and makes my EOS Rebel T1i a little more comfortable to use. The extra battery is also very welcome when using the camera on video mode. The one I got has a little issue with the door of the battery compartment, wich is not as steady as it should be, but not a big deal. I think it's worth the money especially because it's almost half the price of the Canon BG-E5 and works very well.
