The BG-E5 Battery Grip fits my T1i perfectly. The extra battery life doubles the shooting time and the grip gives me a much more solid hold on my camera. The additional weight may be a consideration for longer shoots, but I find it to be negligable. The grip does add height to the camera, so bags and holsters designed for a camera more along the lines of a professional sized DSLR tend to work better.

I got this grip to add more life before recharges when I am on vacation. This unit is well made, and fits my T1I perfectly. It gives you the choice of using 2 LP-E5 batteries or switching to 6 AA rechargeable or regular. Not sure how long the regular ones will last with IS lenes. In either rechargeable config, you get a ton of battery life, you can shoot all day and max out a 8gb sd card. The portrait feature is quite nice for shoot upright photos, you can use Live View or view finder. The wheel and shoot buttons work like a charm. . The only con is it adds size and weight to the camera, which my wife did not care for to much. That is expected with any grip though. But it works great for trips when you are out all day. I was considering getting the Flash Point one instead, but with the package you get 2 batteries included, which made the deal. And the price difference made it easier to get the original canon product over the Flash Point when you factoring in added batteries.

Just bought one of these for a shoot I had this week. I took thousands of shots and my camera still shows full power. The portrait side buttons are easy to use. The grip feels very nice in your hand, not to bulky like some off brand grips I have read about.
