They just stuck it in the box with my other stuff. Maybe they were cleaning their shelves and had to dispose of it

This is the perfect solution when you're out on a lengthy shoot and your Canon batteries die. You can buy AA batteries almost anywhere. Just pop them into the magazine and you're shooting again.

For whatever reason, Adorama does not list the Canon BGM-E6 Battery Magazine as an accessory for the BG-E7 Battery Grip for the EOS 7D. It is listed in the manual (and one comes with the grip), so I know it fits. The Canon 7D manual says you should expect about 400 shots with six fresh AA batteries. That is true if you are out in the middle of nowhere and your LP-E6 batteries are flat, and your only recourse is to buy a couple packs of alkaline AAs from the local gas station. Your BEST bet is to buy a set of high-current (2300 mAh) AA NiCd or NiMH batteries and charge them before a shoot. I find that they deliver about 700-800 exposures on a charge when I am firing in three-shot bracket mode. This is my usual loading, and I keep a pair of LP-E6 batteries in my case for backup; but I've only needed them once. If you are using a Canon EOS 7D with the BG-E7 battery grip and shooting a lot of exposures far from home, you owe it to yourself to keep a spare BGM-E6 Battery Magazine loaded as a backup.

Wanted an easy quick way to change rechargeable AA batteries for my canon 7 D . Removing individual batteries in the field is a hassle and time consuming. Replacing the magazine with a new freshly loaded one is quick and easy. When seconds count its the way to go.

I purchase this item for use with the Adorama "house brand" battety grip for the Canon 5D Mk2. I have no complaints about the non-Canon grip. In fact, 6 months after buying the 5DMk2 and grip from Adorama, forgot that it was the Chinese substitute until I removed the tripod chuck from the bottom of the grip. So, I purchased the Canon BGM-E6 (AA battery magazine) hoping to use it in the Chinese battery grip for the Canon 5DMk2. However, It is not compatible. It will not fully insert into the drawer due to the way the grip is constructed. I have no complaints about either item except that they are not compatible together.

Works in both my 5D2 and 7D battery grips. Wanted a spare so that I can load it up and be lazy on one thing when shooting. It's faster to change the magazine then change the batteries.

I ve not laid hands on the original , but this has good build quality and if i didnt know better i d say it was a Canon. I know there will alawys be pure Canon users who would not entertain it , and where it counts i ve spent 10, 000USD on lenses and bodies, but for this why not save a few and have a product that functions and looks like the orginal
