This camera is awesome! It is a great "entry-level" choice if you are ready to enter the DSLR arena. I use it to photograph nature, and have purchased a telephoto lens as well.

I don't use this cam for video & it's a good thing. Quality is good, but very limited control. I'll be using this cam until I get enough $$$ for a D series. I shoot weddings, couples & individual portraits with this camera fitted with a 70-210 f/4 & a 50 f/1.8 & I love those lenses on it. Go ahead & get a Flashpoint batt. for it, too. Super cheap & performs well. One added remark: My Brother upgraded to this from an XT/350D & he is ecstatic in the difference.

Because I have a limited budget (thanks to my ex-wife and her excellent attorney), I tend to do quite a bit of research before making a purchase to insure I am getting the best value for my money. A professional photographer friend of mine recommended I look into Canon's Refurb program, and after reading dozens of posts in several photography blogs, I decided to go with the Refurbished T1i. What a great little camera! I have gotten into the off-camera flash scene, shooting a lot of portraits, still-life and live music events - usually in manual mode. The results have been on par with friends using cameras costing several time more than my T1i, and certainly meeting or exceeding my expectations. The body is a tad bit small for my tastes, but after adding the battery grip, it feels "right". Low-light focusing could definitely stand some improvement, but it's not too bad. Sure, there are cameras out there with more features and better specs, but if you are looking for a reliable camera that is capable of producing great shots without spending a fortune, the T1i is an excellent choice.

For 45 years I used a 35mm SLR camera taking thousands of pictures. When digital camers came on the sean I purchesed several point and shoot camers for business and personal use. I had mediocre results. So, I purchesed this T1i and it was like comming back home. After an afternoon of reading instruction and setting up the camera, my digital picture taking improved dramatically. I would suggest, if anyone has experience with a film SLR they woun't be happy with digital picture taking untill they purchase a digital SLR. The Cannon Rebel T1i is great camera!!!

I was a little hesitant about purchasing a refurbished camera, but after reading the reviews here and realizing the savings and similar warranty, i went for it; and i am entirely satisfied. It is exactly as if a brand new camera was delivered to us. Thank you Adorama and Canon and Ken Rockwell.

This item I purchased in July 2010. it was refurbished from Adorama. a little sketical at first, I decided to buy this canon T1i refurbished. after reading many reviews it helped me alot with this decision. after really learning to use this slr, it has performed very good for me. it came from Adorama in about 3 days. the camera itself looked as it was brand new. no blemishes, scratches etc. while learning to use this camera, it will do just as well as much more expensive cameras in canons line up. I paired this with the 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. I sold the 18-55mm soon after my purchase. what a great pair they are. I will always have this camera. the camera has video which I never use. I did not buy it for that. learn to use your equipment & read & practice. You will love the camera. Adorama offered a whole year warranty with the one i bought. check it out. you will love this camera. you can check out some shots at [@] to see what it can do. have fun shooting.

I was on the fence about purchasing a refurbished camera, but once I opened the box, I was amazed. There is absolutely no way to tell this was refurbished. Not a scratch, dent or fingerprint on it. The camera works flawlessly, and I saved a significant amount of money as well as having a year warranty from Adorama. This was also my first time purchasing at Adorama and I'm extremely impressed.

First, I didn't want to buy a refurbished camera online. But after doing some homework, I decided to go for it. I did the right choice. I am really happy with it now. I bought it so that I can shoot & frame some memories of our first baby! I have never used SLR before & afraid it would be really hard to use, but not at all! It's really user-friendly & will give you very brilliant pictures ( unlike some point & shoot I 've used ). I think it's more than enough if you are a beginner & don't get paid for your photos! To have some basic idea of T1i , I also bought a book from [...] Canon Rebtel T1i by Jeff Revell( 9 bucks only). I believe it is a very good companion if you are new to T1i. Overall, I am really happy with my choice!

I purchased this camera for my son. He has had very good success with it. For vacations and some weddings. The only real big weakness is the lens since the one it comes with needs a lot of light.

This is a good DSLR for beginners. I am pleased with the value of the refurbished model. Only thing I miss is the tilt/swivel screen.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this camera. For an SLR to start out on and grow into, it's been a great choice. The photo quality is very impressive. It's easy to use. It's design is well thought out. If I have one complaint it's that the photo-mode dial can be turned a little too easily, I'd like a bit more resistance. But that's it. Love it, if you want a starter SLR with a few more bells and whistles to it, this is the one.

I love to take nature photos with this camera. It is a great camera, and the kit lens is very satisfactory. I also purchased the Canon 55-250mm f 4-5.6 is telephoto zoom lens from Adorama which I highly recommend as well.

I purchased the camera for my son. The refurbished camera has in every way been as good as new. This is a great camera with ISO performance better than the 50D and very near the T2i or 7D but with a few less megPix. This camera is one of the best values in my opinion since you get video and very high resolution.

Even though this item was refurbished, the quality is superb. I've had this camera for two months now, and beside a scratch on the LCD (Which I only found out when I took the protective film off. It is only visible when the screen is off, and does not affect picture quality in any way) everything else is what you get from a brand new unit. Very satisfied.

This T1i has been the gateway for me. I have been published in an anthology of 300 photographs. I must have done something right! This camera will do alot. you first must use it & learn all the ways to help you achieve that special photograph.I use the 50mm f/1.8 prime lens with htis, and the quality is ungodly. If Canon makes this when it is time for a new one I will buy it over & over. remember learn to use your equipment. no need to spend thousands!

I am having a great time getting to know my new T1i. [...]This is my first SLR, so I was a little nervous about ease-of-use. It was easy to get good pictures on the first click and I am sure that I will learn to take great shots the more I use it.

Good Intro DSLR camera. There is a learning curve, It has just about all the functions one could want. The video is great HD, If only there was a jack for an external mike

Honestly this was the best purchase I have made in a while. If you are debating whether or not to get the refurbished T1i or a brand new one.... Get the refurbished one. I have had absolutely no problems with mine and with canon [...] refurbished pretty much equals brand new. They use brand new parts and the camera is amazing. the kit lens is pretty good but I have recently bought the 35mm f/2 from Adorama and the pics are super crisp with very nice bokeh. Don't be like my friends and buy a brand new T1i from [...] and pay like 80 bucks in tax on top of full price... get the refurbished T1i with the kit lens and save easily 150 bucks.

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today introduced the new flagship model for the Company's highly popular Rebel DSLR line: the Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera. Today's photo enthusiast is ....

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S Digital SLR Camera is packed with features, both refined and new. In addition to its admirable performance with an all-new 15.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coating and compatibility with the EOS System of lenses and Speedlites, the EOS Rebel T1i adds remarkable Full HD video capture at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080.
An HDMI port allows for quick connections to high definition TVs and monitors for easy viewing of your stills and video. The entire operation is simple and easy even if you are a beginner. You'll have uncompromised EOS Digital performance with power and flexibility right in the palm of your hand. Canon's CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range and offers the most pixels in its class. It offers many of the same new technologies as used by Canon's professional cameras to maximize each pixel's light gathering efficiency.
Its APS-C size sensor creates an effective 1.6x field of view (compared to 35mm format). Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor dramatically speeds up all camera operations for intuitive operation and offers improvements in both fine detail and natural color reproduction. It works in concert with the EOS Rebel T1i's image sensor to achieve unprecedented levels of performance in all lighting situations. The EOS Rebel T1i shoots brilliant video, even in full high definition. By simply selecting Movie mode on the EOS Rebel T1i's mode dial, the camera's 3.0-inch LCD lights up and it's ready to go.
Shooting is at a frame rate of 30 fps when shooting SD or HD quality video (640 x 480 and 1280 x 720 pixels, respectively) and at a frame rate of 20 fps in Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) recording. Sound is recorded through the camera's built-in microphone. Playback modes are simple to access, and all Live View AF features can be used in shooting video.
