SD Card Door Stuck

I bought this camera a month ago to shoot some pictures of friends and travels and the card door stops opening and the SD card is stuck in there. To make it better, the HDMI port isn't transferring the images from the camera to my computer.

Awesome starter camera

I have been using the T2i for almost three years now & this camera has never let me down. This little gem has been reliable even in the heat & humidity of southwest Florida. It has been to the beaches on the gulf coast countless times & it has gone with me into the swamps a few times. For somebody just starting out, this is a great camera to learn on.I am looking to upgrade to a full frame camera soon (6d but this camera will come along in the camera bag as a backup until it can't take anymore pictures.Thank You Canon.

T2i customer for several years

Takes nice pictures, especially when paired with my Canon 18-135mm lens. Video is not as good as with newer camera capabilities, because it is hard to keep moving objects in focus. The mode dial is easily moved when taking the camera in and out of it's case costing me some good shots. Wish there was a mode dial lock switch

Enjoyed using this camera

Wife bought this body with a 55-250 lens as a kit (not listed) to replace the DSLR I had. Got great shots while in Glacier Nat'l. park and Yellowstone Nat'l. park. With the long range I was able to capture waterfalls with slow shutter for "cotton candy" and faster speeds for "droplet" pics. Wife had a few blown up 20x30 to "hang around". Wish I had read more about this unit and I could have taken Movies. THAT would have been great when we came across a mama black bear and her cub, from long range of course!

OK until I got caught in a rain storm

I've had my T2i for a few years. I took over 10,000 pictures with it and was very satisfied. In August 2013 I got caught outside in a rainstorm and the camera is now completely inoperable. Also the lens that came with it in the kit no longer has Auto Focus.

Disappointed

i have used this camera for less than 2 years and since the beginning i was getting a "busy" message soon after taking a picture but it would go away in secs but now the "busy" message shows up whatever i turn ON the camera and i am not able to use the camera, everything becomes frozen...i bought a new memory card class 10, did not work, i bought a new battery, did not work either, this camera was the most expensive i ever had and i really was expecting it would last more than that..

Used this on a few international trips. It's super durable and shoots great pictures with not a lot of fiddling. Pretty awesome baseline DSLR!

Great DSLR

Perfect starter for HD Video production- on par with more expensive models in the Canon line. I also used this camera in studio photography, and this camera produces some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen- excellent resolution!

Best Deal Around for basic DSL

I moved up from a Canon XTi with the Digi-2 processor. Nice camera. But the T2i with Digi-4 has all the speed and 18 MP resolution I need. And it is very reasonably priced. I have two of them now, one with a long lens, the other with my 17-50 Tamron zoom. My pics have been published and I even get paid for shooting now and then. Of course, don't expect a 7D (superfast continuous sport) or 5D (superb quality) with this camera, but for the money this is a great value. Use great lenses and you will very satisfied with image quality.

The best for learning and great photos

For years (since 1975 I was a film photographer Canon Ftb and AE1 (both still active) but in 2010 I went digital with the then top of the line entry level T2i. As a hobbyist and all around joy hunter the T2i has made me look like a pro. I started in New Orleans and on a cruise. Great night shots of wet streets and colors galore with little noise and great landscapes of plantations, shipboard rooms and entertainment shots without a flash and those distance shots of oil rigs from a moving deck of a ship due to the kit EF-S 18-55. But as a learning tool for entry to digital the biggest eye opener was when I found out about HDR photography and the eye popping photos this T2i was able to capture with the stabilized picture with also auto focus on providing the great low noise always. The ability to AEB +/-2 or 1 in 1/3 or 1/2 three instant shots or even to do continuous 2 or more shooting with the AEB getting a set (of three -2 0 +2) for 2 (6 shots total [or more if you just want to let it go]) shots back to back with the mirror up (live view)(less shake and noise) of sunrises or sunsets WITH windy conditions or moving tides providing very little ghosting to tend with, mind blowing magical to say the least.

Great Camera even for a beginner

I was a beginner photographer when I bought this camera and I began shooting that day with a little help from youtube. The images were great. The video capture was awesome I cant tell you how many times we made goofy videos and watched it on the frame by frame video playback. Great camera, all the other reviews convinced me to buy it, so I figured I'd help convince someone else.

Solid camera, good price, professional results

Overall, this is a good, solid camera and a very good value for the price. While it has some nice auto and semi-automatic functions, I work entirely in manual mode, and the controls and ability to adjust settings are clunky. If you're a landscape photographer or work with semi-automatic functions, you won't have a problem. I'm an urban photographer and find adjustments clunky, and a little slow. But again, it's a good, solid choice at at good price, and there is no reason someone with a decent skill set can't get professional photos from this camera.

I was very happy with the T2i for my needs and price range. However, I was very disappointed with the 18-55MM lens that came with it. Therefore, I returned the T2i originally purchased and purchased a body only to buy the lens that I liked better (55MM-250MM).

Canon T2i is a steal for the money

With the introduction of the Canon T4i, the price drops for both the new and slightly used T2i cameras, making them that much better a buy for the would-be photographer. Also, since it supports both the Canon EF and EF-S lenses, it makes an excellent back-up for the serious shooter.

Great Buy

This is a great buy for the family. I have three sons who are 10, 11 and 12. They are all using the camera and enjoying it. We are using it for family retreats and events we want to have memories of, and we love it.

Wonderful Camera

I'm a beginner and love this camera. You must take the time to read through the manual and play with it. I am amazed at the photos I've taken. The clarity is fantastic, easy to use not heavy at all. I am really enjoying it and want to learn more about photography.

My Dream Camera

I purchased the T2i about 2 weeks ago & can't put it down! Have wanted a Rebel for several years. A dream of a camera. Great photos right out of the box on Auto! Upgraded from an SX40 IS which is a great camera too. Just bought the additional telephoto lens. A little heavy but will get used to that...because that's what allows for all the features and quality. So easy to use, fast shutter speed for my dogs & other action photos. It was worth the wait. If you are familiar w/Canon cams the menus are easy too. Buy it if you are on the fence. You won't regret it!

Greatest gift so far

I received this camera body as a Christmas gift this past year and I haven't been able to put it down just yet. I've used it for basic photography and traveling. I highly recommend for those who love to work more than just the automatic feature.

Great first DSLR!

This is a great starter DSLR. I'm not overly impressed with the performance of the kit lenses in low light situations but that doesn't have much to do with the camera itself. Menu system is very easy to navigate. Manually setting up shots is very quick and easy.

Great value camera.

Canon really nailed their design philosophy with the T2i. This easy-to-use camera would be perfect for any beginner, but unlike the previous Rebel entry-level cameras, it goes beyond that. This is a Real Camera. Compared with other entry-levels, the body feels much stronger and the interface feels noticeably more logical. The image quality is unimpeachable, and the LCD is so good, you'll be fooled into thinking that you're a better photographer than you are. Penny for penny, this camera is a significantly better value than the T3i, let alone the 60D. Unless you absolutely, positively, specifically need a feature from one of those cameras, I'd say to go for the T2i and to spend the excess money on lenses.
