Great product.

Product works well. If yo ubuy this, realize that the stock lns cap will not fit the 67mm filter, so you'll also need to buy a generic 67mm lens cap. Otherwise, it works great and helps protect the built-in lens.

Doesn't make for the millions of cameras

Canon suck's on this one. Sell millions of the SX30IS and do not have a lens hood or filter for it!

Good purchase

The filter adapter screwed easily onto the lens of my Canon SX-50 HS and allows the use of regular 67mm filters (polarizing, UV etc). Once the adapter is on, however, you cannot use the sun hood. Also, like other reviews I have read, you really need to buy an adapter for each filter as it is virtually impossible to separate the adapter and the filter once it is screwed on. Kind of a pain, but worth it for me to protect the lens and take advantage of the filter effects.

Exactly what I needed for my SX 50HS

By

from Greenville SC  -  Photo Enthusiast

I wanted this to be able to use a polarizer on the SX 50HS. It fits perfectly and works as expected. I bought it from Adorama because of their customer service, fair pricing and fast shipping. Will order from Adorama again and again

Precisely what's needed.

By

from Colorado Springs  -  Photo Enthusiast

It's just what I needed. Using on an SX10IS but tested against the latest too just in case I upgrade camera. I had a 3rd party version but it handles a smaller (58mm) filter which caused vignetting. This ring with the 67mm filter works perfectly. Easy on, easy off. So why only 4 stars? It's a Canon accessory. Should have been included with the camera, or the camera designed to allow filters in the first place.

Works, but clunky

By

from Northern Deep South  -  Photo Enthusiast

Attaches to the Powershot SX 50 HS lens and allows using 67 mm (i.e., way bigger) filters. It does work. But it's clunky. First, there's not an obvious Tab A, Slot B kind of attachment. Even when you see it, you have to feel around for it. Second, you have to take the adapter and filter combination off to put the lens cap back on. Still, the combination package (filter, adapter, camera) is way lighter than a DSLR.

works, sort of

By

from St. Paul, MN  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

It does what it is supposed to do but not very well. I read all the reviews about how it doesn't stay attached - and they were all correct! I've put some rubber cement on the ring when I use it to help it stay attached. Rubber cement is removeable and has been working ok for me so far. The nice thing is that it lets me share filters with my other lenses.

Can add filter to lens to protect it

By

from San Jose, Ca.  -  Semi-Professional

Purchased 2 to protect the lenses on both of my cameras (Canon SX20IS and SX50HS). Easy to attach, along with aftermarket lens hoods and Canon lens caps. This item fits other PowerShot cameras besides what is specified of the cameras listed, check your owners manual for details.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Is this the right filter adapter for the Canon SX 50 HS?
TINA M  I own a SX30 IS and this is the filter adapter (FA-DC67A) that I bought for my camera and works with the 67mm filters.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
ELAINE T  Unfortunately this is the only way to add a filter to the camera. I think Canon is just out to make money on this one, you have no choices if you use filters.
Shopper  Does this work with a Power Shot SX 50HS?
PAUL B  I don't have a SX 50HS but according to the Adorama web sight it does.
