wish I had seen the HF-DC2 supports 24mm wide angle lenses.

When the big cameras and speed lights stay home, and a pocketful of gear is all that's practical, this flash provides high end capability. Put the bracket in a drawer. Hold this flash at arm's length with the Powershot in the other hand. No more ugly on camera flash. Deflect the on-camera flash (my silver credit card works great) for even more creative control. Change ISO to balance ambient light component. Thus far, the experiments are tabletop and portrait scale. A smart companion to my S-90

I was hoping to use this flash for group/portrait shots, however, the flash isn't able to overcome the lens adapter attached to my camera. In other words, I can't figure out how to eliminate the shadow cast on subjects in the lower right side of the picture even with a flash bracket attached. Is a great addition if using with camera with no added accessories attached. Would not recommend unless existing flash on powershot cameras leaving indoor shots under exposed, although there are ways around this by changing camera settings, that is what I will do.

Add a little extra light to your photo with this lightweight slave flash. It's small enough to set on a shelf, mount on a monopod or attach to your camera. And for the price, you can get as many as you need! The only improvement I would recommend is a different battery type, like AAA or AA battery.

• To further enhance the built-in flash of the powershot line of digital cameras, Canon has developed a High Power Flash called the HF-DC1.
The flash is a supplementary unit that operates wirelessly and increases the effective flash range up to approximately 30 feet.
The HF-DC1 flash is supplied with a mounting bracket so it can be attached to the camera, but it can also be hand-held or mounted on a tripod or accessory light stand to adjust the lighting angle for pro-like quality results.
Multiple HF-DC1 units can be synchronized with a single camera for even greater lighting flexibility. This smart high powered slave flash unit is compact and compatible with almost every PowerShot digital camera
