I bought some 3rd party batteries for my G11. Never again. One died at 4 months, the other wouldn't hold a charge at 6 months. My original G11 battery is still going after 6 YEARS. This is a spare.

Excellent life per charge - both in holding charge after being charged, and in number of photos (even flash) per charge.

Trust your camera with the battery it deserves. Canon beats any copy. It's worth the little extra money.

I like using brand name products that fit applications perfectly. Other manufactured batteries work but not as well as the brand name. Just my point of view.

While the Canon batteries cost more than "generics", they are well worth it. They charge quickly and last a long time. They are also easy to charge while traveling in other countries where the electricity is different than that in the US.
