Excellent Printer getting great results
I am very happy with my purchase. I Was a long time Epson user (also pro models). I decided on purchasing the Canon Pro 1 after attending this years Photo East Show at the Javits Center in NYC and judging the results personally. I was really impressed with the sample photos on hand. and I have been extremely pleased with my resulting prints. Initial print set up is kind of long but what the heck? It is a one time thing anyway. Installation is easy none-the-less.
I do not make my living from photography but my print output is very high. I have and still own other canon non photo specific printers that have given me many years of problem free service. I am expecting the same from this Canon Pro 1 printer. It is constructed very well, elegant design, easy ink cartridge installation, easy paper feed, easy to operate, extremely quite when printing. All the things you should expect from a professional grade printer.
The printer driver is easy to use and comprehend and the resulting prints through Lightroom or Photoshop have not had any "conversation" issues (using a calibrated workflow).
There is some software bloat on the supplied CD that has the driver for the printer. Usually there is other software that is already being used by the typical person who would purchase this caliber of printer. It is easy enough to get rid of what you will not use or need.
It is a 13 /19 printer so you will need some clear free space where you will be placing it. Especially if you plan on using the rear lower paper feed. It is not WiFi capable so if you plan on placing it in another room remember you'll be running a cable.
I have purchased gear and supplies for many years at Adorama. It is a very good company to do business with.
