I shoot a Canon 30D, a great camera for most things. But when attending functions, parks, etc., when it is not feasible to take the big boy, this little camera is perfect. Takes great pictures. I purchased one for my lady friend. After teaching her to use it I like it so much I purchaced another for me.

I LOVE this camera so much that when I lost it, I bought a facotry-refurbished SD780IS to replace it (it had been discontinued). If you want a powerful little "point & shoot" camera, then this camera is for you. It takes the work out of taking great photos. Even when I change camera settings and make manual adjustment to out-think the camera and get a better picture, the "AUTO" mode pictures seem to turn out better. I constantly receive compliments on my pictures taken with this camera.

I bought several of these as backups because there are no small cameras made now that have optical viewfinders - a must have in full sunlight when you can't see the LCD!!!

I purchased 3 of these for my family. They were a great deal and this is a great pocket camera. I shoot Nikon Pro bodies and I needed something to keep my family from wanting me to pull out my camera and take pictures everytime I turned around. This did the trick.

Bought the camera for my husband who wanted more than an LCD for viewing. Small enough to put in his pocket, and great picture quality. Happiest he has been with a product I purchased for him in years!

Bought 3 of these for my kids and wife. I shoot Nikon Pro bodies, but my wife was always bugging me to get out my camera and take a picture. I bought her one of these and she doesn't bug me any more for pictures. Its been a great camera and my kids each have one.

We gave this camera to our grandchildren ages 8 and 11. They found it very easy to use right out of the box. Lithium battery life is very good. Large LCD for in camera editing of photos. The optical view finder is very handy for bright light outdoor photos. Small size but easy to use controls.

If you don't mind refurbished items, this camera is a very good value. It's truly pocket-sized. I love having the optical viewfinder. Although it's not as accurate as I would like, it does zoom in concert with the lens. Some people complain the viewfinder is too tiny, but I got used to it quickly and it sure beats squinting at a washed out LCD in bright sunlight. The 12 MPs plus the Canon lens quality is all I need to put my photo software to work making great pictures.

Love this little camera. It's the perfect pocket camera. I find the little viewfinder very useful in bright sun and it zooms with the lens! In fact, I chose 780 over the 940 specifically because of the viewfinder. Hey, it's not a DSLR, but for what it was designed to do and for the price, it can't be beat.
