Having used the Canon Powershot A520 for 5 years, and been mostly satisfied with it, I decided to go for the Canon Powershot SX 210 IS. It was a gift, but I researched and chose the camera. I was looking for a camera with the ease of use of the A520, but smaller and lighter, and with a better zoom. I like to photograph birds and nature, family and friends. I like to be able to get off a quick shot without having to pose or arrange a photo - to "capture the moment". I've not had a chance to use my new camera extensively, but it performs well under low light conditions, and is quicker than my old camera. It is also sleeker and lighter in weight, and has a better designed port door. It is easy to figure out how it works; I haven't had to use the directions yet. The main problem I've found so far is that the camera flash, rather than being set in to the camera, pops up at the top left, and seems to be very much in the way. It will take me some time to learn to work around it. I have not had opportunity to try the zoom, but I did look through the zoom lens in the large store where I first looked at the camera, and I could see clearly all the way across the big box building. I ordered the camera online, as I wanted the purple passion color; I wanted my camera to stand out, and be easily recognizable. So far, it fills the bill nicely.
