At first this appears to be a standard thumb drive but it is not. The end cap comes off allowing the user to insert a memory card into it. Very compact and easy to use. Eliminates those bulky multi-card/USB reader hubs. Wish it came with a clip attachment to secure to my camera strap.

I obtained this camera flash card reader as part of a bundle deal. At first I thought this was just a USB flash drive, and was surprised to find out it allows the user to insert the memory card directly into it so pictures can be directly downloaded. I like this for the compact size and functionality. A great add on for my camera gear.

Bought this for downloading movie files from my new camcorder's SDHC card. The worst part is that it's PAINFULLY SLOW. It only downoads at about 2mb/sec!! It also did something to my memory card, because now my computor doesn't recognize the card when read from my camcorder. I'm now forced to use this for downloads, since it zapped the camera's hardware profile from my computer. This was not the product I expected.

No more fumbling with cords connecting the camcorder to my Smart TV or computer. Just put the SD card in it and plug it in to the USB port...wha la!

This product arrived in a bundle I had bought for myself and although the light glows when I plug it in it refuses to be recognized. I have tested it on multiple computers and multiple OS's but nothing seems to work. After two hours of fiddling with it I decided it was as good as dead.

I would say don't fall for free stuff they give along with your main purchase. Card reader i got as free goodie is very cheaply made and reads files in few Kbps speed.. This takes forever to transfer images. Better to just connect camera to your PC directly using USB cable which will be 10 times faster.

This SD card reader comes as part of a kit sold with camera packages. It works, no problems with compatibility with my laptops or desktop pc. Also works in the usb port in my truck to transfer photos and music to my in-dash radio unit. Given the small size, it is easily lost or misplaced. Overall, nice little reader to have.

My old one only fits in the back of my computer -- it's girth won't allow it to fit in the front. This one is perfect, and fits in all of the USB ports!

It does seem like a lottery. I got the ATP Pro Max version when I bought a camera with a bundle. It is not very well made but does work well. The trick is to squeeze the sides on the slider so it moves. If you don't then see other reviews. It is a little wide so on my computer it is a tight fit on the USB ports in the front. Once inserted though it works well.
