The pop-up shades makes taking pictures in bright sun easier, but it is a little more fragile than I like. The top will break off if not handled carefully,

I hate it that most cameras no longer have view finders. Trying to take an important photo outside without one is a challenge when I can't see the screen. I bought one of these shades a few years ago at Best Buy so naturally that was the first place I went. No one knew what I was talking about. Local camera shopso were no help either. I searched the Internet and found it here. I arrived quicker than expected and was in my hands just in time for vacation. I was concerned that the adhesive would loosen and it would fall off. I've been using it for about 2 weeks without problems. I may order a spare in case it becomes even more scarce.

Unfortunately, the device didn't work for me. I still cannot see the screen at all in bright sunlight.

I built one from parts from AC Moore craft store for 1.98 Covers ALL of the screen and doesn't block anything and -- NO STICKY TAPE RESIDUE to deal with. Uses the tripod bolt hole. AND - it shades ALL FOUR SIDES!!!! -- Not just the top. Does not fold up... Just unbolt and put away. Stan videstudio@juno.com

I'm a reyired newspaper photographer and since everything has gone digital I have found one of these shades is needed to see the screen in bright Sun. They work well if you use the two sided carpet tape to secure it to the camera. The sticky tape on the back that comes with the shade is not enough to keep it on.

finally can see picture monitor in daytime,..shoot pictures at night without distracting light of monitor screen,..buy at least 2,cause you'll really like it after using....not mentioned, is fact after mounting,(sticking on camera) the "shade part" slides over and comes off,.then can use without, then slides & clicks back in again for shade use..you might break or loose shade part, so by an extra one..great usefull product, joe

I didn't relieze how much I depended on this shade untill it kind of melted off in 110 plus weather in Baja. I couldn't reattach it well and for the price, not worth the bother. Only thing better would be a clip on type that Sony used to make for their DSLR a cameras

I have three mirrorless cameras and all have the same problem: it is very difficult to see the LCD on a bright, sunny day. This shade fits well, comes in multiple sizes and gets the job done. I would raise the rating if it was a little sturdier. Having said that, my first one is still in use on the a camera after a year. Pluses: makes picture taking on bright days do-able reasonable price light folds down protects the LCD when folded in easy to install Minuses: seems a little flimsy Does increase bulk a little hope the adhesive will not leave a residue on the camera body if I decide to remove it

I have two cameras. I bought this pop-up viewfinder for the first one, and loved it, so I bought a second one for the second camera. Works great outdoors and in the studio to reduce glare and to facilitate focusing and composing. Love it.

I bought this for my Canon EOS M which has a touch screen. Every time I touched the screen the hood fell off. Then it just wouldn't stay on at all. I threw it out.

Protects the LCD screen, allows better viewing in bright light - I have one on all my small digital cameras and recommend it to all my friends. Easy to install.

Product is excellent. If the sun is behind you, it' not going to help but I don't of anything that will. At least you can turn the camera to the side and review your image w/o the glare. I have 4 of these on both P & S and DSLR cameras. Easy installation and the Pop-up shade comes off easily if you need to clean the glass which is part of the frame attached to your camera. This glass provides excellent protection for your LCD screen.

This product is the neatest thing since sliced bread. If you've ever tried to take a photo in bright sunshine, you know how difficult it can be. This handy gadget resolves the problem, and yet stores easily when finished. You pop it open to provide the needed shade to see what picture you're taking and when you're finished you fold it closed for storage. How complicated is that?

I have four of these shades in use, after doing a modification to remove the clear screen from each. It is a bit delicate to disassemble the pop-up from the thin attachment frame--to get to the clear screen. This screen only furnishes an additional, and undesireable reflective surface. Can be removed, though, very careful prying with a small screw driver separates the glued parts. Do this prior to attaching to the camera, of course. Overall not a perfect solution to the glare problem in bright sunlight, but much better than no shade at all.

Delkin doesn't yet make a pop-up shade specifically for the Canon EOS 6D, but this works well. It keeps my LCD display clean and prevents scratches. It also makes viewing images in bright light a little easier. One minor issue - it is harder to get hold of the cover to open it than the other Delkin pop-up shades I've used. I have them on all my cameras.

I bought this specifically to use on my point and shoot (Sony DSC-HX30V) while on a ski trip. When skiing the light is usually so bright, that you can not see much on your LCD screen. I thought this device would help, and it did, a little, but not as much as I would have liked. Of course that is a bit of an extreme circumstance. Overall it does cut down on glare, and helps protect your LCD screen. It mounts easily and securely, and is a great item for the price.

A lot of people ask about it when they see me shooting with the unit. The first unit didn't last too long, but it is very affordable. Service from Adorama was excellent, fast shipping, but the service for free shipping wastes a couple of day sitting in the Post Office.

Just purchased a new SLR from Adorama. I wanted to protect the LCD from scratches and block sun rays from washing out the screen.

I bought this to protect the screen and to shade it so I could see it better. It does all that, easily, and comes off, just as easily, when you don't want or need it. It eliminates any need for a camera cover.

Shade came highly recommended, but it didn't stick to my camera - slipped and came off repeatedly... not using it at this time. Any advice?????
