Questions about this item:

Shopper  Will this scan super 8 movies? How long does it take to scan?
MF D  This scanner will not scan super 8 movies. Scanning speed is very difficult to quote. It really depends on the speed of your computer, the resolution you are scanning at and what image processing features you are using. For example IR dust and scratch removal requires the scanner to do a 2nd scan pass. A single pass at 3600 dpi will take about 30 seconds. More info on the Plustek website.
diane w  Does any software come with this scanner?
TERESA L  Yes, it does but the software is not very good or easy to use.
Shopper  Is the only difference between the 2 8200 machines the software or are there differences in the machines themselves?
MF D  Hi Mark from Plustek here. The hardware for the 2 8200i scanners is identical. The only difference is software. The Ai version includes SilverFast Ai Studio which includes IT8 calibration and CMYK output. Also Ai Studio gives you more control over image processing. The SE version includes SilverFast SE Plus. SE Plus is easier to use than Ai but does not include CMYK and IT8 calibration.
