I did not reformat drive before use (so it's still Fat32, which works great in XP w/o having to download anything additional). My understanding is that Macs prefer exFat32 (unsure-just research), so be cautious. Also, because I did not reformat to NTSC, I was unable to copy one video file that was over 4gb. If you plan to copy files over 4gb, reformat flash drive first before using from Fat32 to the NTSC format.

I am using this product to back up important photos and documents important to my family in case my primary or secondary external hard drives crash.

Fastest USB 2.0 Drive that I own

By

from Las Vegas, NV  -  Power user

The Delkin USB drive is the fastest drive that I own with 25MB/sec write and 31MB/sec read. I have Corsair, Kingston, and Sandisk; Corsair (14MB/sec write, 25MB/sec read) is 2nd best but slower than Delkin. Kingston and Sandisk (6.5MB/sec write, 27MB/sec read) are really slow. The speed differences are mostly in the write I/O. I am using this drive as a backup drive so am not aggressively performing file I/O on it. As a result, reliability is unknown, but I don't anticipate any issues because flash technology is pretty matured. The drive is fast and the price is excellent. Can't ask anything better than that.

Good for the price

Didn't get rated speed but works well. The case size is kind of big and the cap is easily lost.

Amazing price, amazing speed!

By

Never heard of Delkin before. Glad to find out they're an American company and they don't lie about performance specs. Somehow for a USB 2.0 drive this thing exceeds speeds I've seen USB 2.0 capable of (granted it was used in USB 3.0 ports, but still...) which is amazing. Filled the drive to the brim and tested back files for data integrity. All good. Can't get better... with one exception. The drive casing is too big to allow other usb devices next to it, so it effectivly takes two USB slots on most laptops. Not horrible, but worth mentioning.

Excellent choice for highcapacity drive

By

I have now bought four of these drives for photo back-up. It is easy to back-up, store and retrieve files. This is the least expensive, high capacity flash drive I could find, and so far, I am completely satisfied.

Photo Club back up - 40gb's Perfect for long term and safe backup The physical size of this thumb drive is larger than most but I expect that it needs to be considering it is 64gb

Very Fast backup drive

By

from Buckley, WA  -  Power user

I have thousands and thousands of pictures - way too many to lose. I bought one of these for our Photography Club and have 35gb worth of photos on the drive. I was so pleased, I bought another one for my personal photos.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  what does "up to" 34 mb/s mean? does it normally operate slower than that or something?
CARLOS T  Does take a while for large file, but it really depends on our computer configuration. However 64 Gigabytes is a lot of information to transfer on any system.
