Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this new?JAROLD H : I bought mine a year ago... Great card..BILL R : I'm sure this card as supplied by Adorama is 'New'. The UDMA compliant CF cards are now UDMA7. Unless you have very fast cameras you won't see any difference in use and prices are coming down. SanDisk makes good stuff. I have a number of 16 GB CF cards from UDMA5 to 7. Compare the specs/prices and buy the best given your uses.NICK G : It is the same as the one I bought in 2010,so it is not new,it's great to use in my 40D shooting the grand children at sporting events it will keep up with the shutter speed of the 40DRICHARD K : These 16GB CF cards have been around for a while. I purchased this card in Oct 2012, and it works great! These CF cards from ScanDisk are available in larger storage capacities, too. I highly recommend this product.BRUCE L : Yes
Shopper : why is this cheaper than the one that writes at 60mb/sec?KEVIN K : Don't know. Buy 'em up!MARK C : it's not this card is 20 dollars more
MARJORIE G : what is the difference between a compact flash card and a memory card?TIANHONG F : a compact flash card is a type of memory cards memory cards are the usual media for storing images/videos taken with digital cameras and camcorders, there are 3 major types of memory cards and they are not compatible with each other so when you buy them, make sure your camera or whatever device is compatible: 1. Secure Digital (SD) card (most prevalent) 2. Compact Flash (CF) card (usually used in DSLRs) 3. Memory Stick (MS), Sony's own type of memory card so almost all Sony digital devices accept themPAUL K : Compact flash card is a memory card. It is one of the larger ones.DOUG R : A CF card is a type of memory card. Just like a sedan is a type of car. SanDisk is a brand like Ford.MARJORIE G : thanks!JIM M : a compact flash card is a memory card, but not all memory cards are compact flash cards. There are numerous types of memory card, compact flash memory card, sd memory card, XD memory card...... The type of your memory card will be determine what memory card slot or reader that you memory card will be plugged into. Most cameras use mostly Compact Flash and SD card.Xavier A : A compact flash card is a memory card. There are several different types of memory cards and CF is one type. An example of another type of memory card is "SD" which is smaller but does the same thing -- store information such as picture or video files. Be sure to get the type that fits your camera.PATRICK S : Compact flash is a type of memory card. There are different types of memory cards - make sure you buy the one your device specifies.MERVIN C : I'm not a techie, so won't be able to tell you the difference between "flash memory" and any other "memory", but a compact flash card is, in fact, a memory card and, the one in question (SanDisk extreme pro), I understand, is a very fast one. I hope this helps M.C.CATHERINE B : A Compact Flash card, or CF card, is a type of memory card. It stores all of the image data and is what you use to transport this data to your computer for editing. Other types of memory cards include SD, Micro SD (commonly used in cell phones), among others. Most digital cameras will take CF or SD card types, just depends on the camera.OSCAR G : A compact flash card is a memory card. There are different types of memory card each with their pros and cons. Also see what your device will accept. Most devices will either have Compact Flash or SD options for the memory card that is needed. CF vs SD is a good google search. Basically you will have a faster card with the CF card vs a SD card. But lately that has been less of a difference as SD card have gained a lot of speed. SD card are smaller and lighter Both are flash memory which means that they don't use a disc to record CF card have to be inserted carefully as they hace pins that can be bent where a SD will not. Hope that helps, OMIKHAIL G : if your camera requires a compact flash, then you just need to get one. Some high end newer cameras have dual slots where you have SD and compact flash.

Room with a View

Memory card on my D3 provides 605 captures. That's equivalent to almost 17 rolls of 36 exp film. Do the math.

Fast recording card

San Disk is probably on top of them all, it's fast and has lots of space and was wonderfully priced.

Works perfectly

This is the third one I've purchased. My digital back is finicky about compact flash cards. SanDisk Extreme has always worked perfectly and have been very reliable.

Great memory cards

I absolutely love these cards. While I don't notice a speed in writing and recording, sandisk in general makes great reliable memory cards.

I've bought two of these SanDisk cards

I chose 16GB because it is large enough, but not too large. I'd rather have my images on two 16GB rather than one 32GB. If one fets lost or damaged I'll still have at least 1/2 of my images.

Perfect! Reliable! Good price!

I am a semi-new/semi-professional photographer in California. In Februabry I held an all-day Mini Valentines Sessions for my clients kids. I already have one of these disks and bought another for backup and Ill explain why. While about half way through the Mini Session, my disc was full. Now, for the record, I shoot RAW with my Canon 5D Mark II (big file size). It was right at the end of one client and I had about 20 minutes before the next. Well, I rushed to download all of these images onto my MAC and it takes what feels like FOREVER. Luckily, I had a 8GB that originally came with my little Rebel 8 years ago and I was able to get by. I knew I had a full 9 hour day of Shooting Easter Pictures in March and I was NOT about to run out of disk space, hence I ordered another of these. Its just as described, writes fast, has a good amount of storage. If I could afford dropping a larger amount of $ at one time Id get an even bigger/higher GB disk but having 2 Extreme Pro 16GB disk and a regular 8GB as backup is good enough for me....If I were a wedding photog, different story. Hope this helps!

Does the job

I guess as long as it does not fail then it's doing its job right? Don't know if it makes my continuous shooting faster or not but I'm happy with the performance.

Great CF Cards

After using slower cards for some time, I went to the Extrme PRO CF cards, and found that they process so much faster.

Right card for Canon 1DX

Adorama comes through again: Card arrived a few days early and was ready to use in my 1DX. it's a little pricey but if you value your pictures then invest in SanDisk and get them from Adorama.

Great small card

Needed another card as I seem to fill them up on trips. Card seems a little faster than my other Extreme 4. I think it was worth the money if you are shooting fast.

Fast and durable

This was a great value! I purchased it during a recent "1 day only" special. I purchased it near the end of the day and expected it to be sold out. Kudos to Adorama for offering a special and having enough to go around! This card is fast and durable (I shoot a lot of sports) and perfect for me.

Extremely sold on SanDisk

I use this card to shoot local rock bands in Austin. The lighting conditions are not always perfect nor is the location I shoot from but this card has lived up to all expectations.

Same as all of my others.

I have 8 or more of these same cards I buy 2 new ones every few months but keep the old ones in rotation. I have only had a problem with one card and I bought it from another site.

Great CF card

This is the best CF card I have ever used. Very reliable and super fast. The only downside is the price but they do go on sale a few times per year so I suggest buying then.

good card

I bought 3 of these brand new for my D3s. One of them failed on a paid gig & I lost all images. They replaced it no charge but it too some time. First they sent me the wrong card for the replacement & didn't want to replace the incorrect card. It was a much slower 16 GB card. I had to call several times & keep explaining their mistake to them & they thought I was trying to pull a fast one. Luckily I had taken pictures & included the serial #. Of course the lost data could not be replaced & it was a live event & I could not reshoot. I blame myself for that & changed the way I store data so this won't happen again.
