A little confusing

I had a point and shoot camera before and I had bought 2 - 2gig cards for it. Those were one piece cards. Then I got this one, and it came apart! I was really confused. Put in the outside piece and tried to use my camera and it didn't work! Almost sent the camera back, when I decided to try to put the little part into the center and use both of them. Voila! The instructions were worthless. But so far, the disk seems to be working fine -- have loaded it up and erased it at least 6 times since I've had the camera (about a month). No problems!
