About Epson

• Epson Professional Imaging is pleased to announce the launch of Exhibition Fiber Paper. This breakthrough fiber based photographic paper was developed in collaboration with many of the industry's leading professional photographers to offer not only greater creative control due to extraordinary D-Max and tonal transition in B&W, but the ability to print extraordinary color with the same paper, something that was not possible to do with traditional fiber based papers.

Combining the artistry of traditional photography with the ease and control of digital output, this unique media offers the same deep blacks, subtle tonal gradations and long-lasting results as the darkroom papers of old. Its fiber base has a rich surface, a continuous tone and soft gloss that are ideal for creating stunning color or neutral black-and-white prints that retain the look and feel of traditional fiber paper.

Remarkable Tonality

I had heard that Epson was working with some top digital photographers to produce an inkjet paper that would meet or exceed the performance of traditional silver prints. Being a fan of classic black and white prints,I obtained some trial sheets of the new "Signature Worthy Exhibition" paper. The paper looks and feels great having just the right gsm to feel solid but not too heavy that it will cause any printing problems. I made a test print of a rather high dynamic range photo with deep shadows and brightly lit clouds converted to B&W in CS3. I used the free profile from Pixel Genius and printed on an Epson R3800 at the Superphoto setting. The print is phenomenal in its rendition of all tones and its ability to hold detail. It may be the first time that I thought the print exceeded the image on my monitor. It actually has the appearance of a great silver process print but appears to handle contrast better. It outperforms comparable Museo and Hahnemuhle papers. The ONLY downside is the price although it is comparable to the Museo Silver Rag I have been using. Also, the soft proofing with the Pixel Genius profile was dead on so there should be less wasted paper. And despite this rave review, I do not work for or represent Epson.

Superb Paper

By

from Parkland, FL  -  Heavy Duty User

This is the finest inkjet paper that I have printed on to date. Epson has continued to improve the quality of the paper that they offer over the years to match the quality of their printers. When I first started using this paper, after many years of their UltraPremium Presentation Matte Paper, I was astonished at the improvement in the appearance of the print. As a landscape photographer, the ability to hold detail is critical to me and this paper more than does it well. Do not hesitate to print on this paper, you will not be disappointed.

Love this paper, but...

it really is extremely fragile and prone to scratching and lint. Wish inkjet papers were as easy to spot as in the darkroom days...

Just hums with my Epson 3800. Great tonal prints since first sheet thru the chute.

Clear difference

The best paper that I've found for use with the Epson Stylus Pro 3800. The difference in print quality is clearly visible.
