I bought this scanner last week. Set up was quick and easy. I was up and running right away and I scanned about 100 color photos for a slideshow. I then scanned a few hundred color slides for archive. Some of these slides were from the 1960's and color was faded. Digital ICE software cleaned up the dust particles and color restoration improved the overall color of the slides. I've since moved on to color 35mm negatives and am very pleased with the results. The plastic racks for holding slides and negatives work well, but I am wishing they had more capacity. Oh well, I didn't want to spend the extra money for a higher capacity scanner. The one problem I found is that the digital ICE software does more harm than good on BW negatives. It does remove dust particles but it also makes some darker areas of grayscale look more like pure black & white. Instead of being diffuse, the edges of shadows end up being sharp and some subtle details are lost. I'm scanning BW with digital ICE disabled and. other than dust, the results are great. I have yet to try the scanner on large format negatives.

I use this scanner to scan old slides and family photo prints. Excellent results, especially with the older slides. Color corrections are amazing.

I use this mostly for scanning 35mm negatives and slides. I have scanned photos, too. The scanner and the software team up to make the process quick and easy. I have used other negative scanners, but this is by far the best scanner I have used. Epson got this one right.

This is a great scanner for film negatives and slides. It resolves fine details, and my scans have been very clear. The film attachments are well designed, and clearly not an after thought to add to the list of functions on the box. The software took some patience the first few times I used it. It's not complicated, but is tedious to configure until some presets are built. The ICE processing is pretty slow, but worth the time because the results are markedly cleaner. Exposure is accurate. If my film is under/over, so is the scan. I have owned several scanners by other brands, and this model gives the best technical results in comparison.

Good all around scanner for film, all kinds up to 2 1/4 by 2 1/4. It helps if you have had some scanner experience before using the Epson.

I had a predecessor of this scanner for seven years and it is still going strong. Not fancy but really does the job.

Scanning 35mm and 120 transparencies as well as prints. Good resolution and color duplication. 120 transparencies difficult to scan .

Wxxxx does well for cleaning. However, glass surface needs TLC. Reflective light, on surface, tells you if you have removed all of the cleanser. Recommend soft, dust free cloth or, "GOOD" quality paper towell. Be sure to blow off screen before using:also, blow off image to be scanned.

I use this scanner for 35mm and 120 color, b&w, and slide film for my art. It does well scanning the photos at high resolution. It's a bit slow on the higher side, so I suggest scanning in on a low res-level and review your photos to determine what ones will be high res scans. I also have to use Adobe Photoshop to occasionally adjust my photos as well, but that could be just for my tastes.

This scanner is perfect for our use. My wife and I are both freelance graphic artists and use the scanner on a weekly basis. The only improvement I can think of would be a larger scanning bed.

My previous scanner was a Microtek from around '98. It worked well for many years (and still does) but this is a major upgrade! Much faster, quieter. Great images. The light lid works very well too. Scans from negatives seem to be a little grainy, but that may just be the nature of the situation.
