Watched videos before I bought this scanner. Videos showed scanning of business cards. This unit can't scan them, even with the indicators. It doesn't scan from the edge of the paper, but about 1/4'' in. Crops all borders, and useless on small items like cards. As far as image quality is concerned, I wasn't impressed here, either. It wasn't terrible, but there are newer, better items available, I'm sure, and probably for less money. I usually like Epson products, but stay away from this one.

I use this almost daily to digitize B & W as well as color prints but also to change typed writing from years ago into editable Word documents. This is a great scanner.

I bought this before going on vacation with my family because I knew that I could not be guaranteed that there would be one I could use. This portable scanner is so easy to bring with you anywhere and it easy to use. Setup is simple and after I figured out how to locate and change the name of the documents I scanned, it really helped me continue my small business even in remote locations. Also, it paid for itself in the business that I was able to conduct while away.

I purchased this After speaking to Epson support who assured me that the software updates for Windows 10 was on their support website. I specifically said that I was purchasing this portable scanner for the sole purpose of scanning business cards into either a CSV. file or Excel. I was shocked and disappointed to learn that they did not include the software for the business card scanner function! I returned this to the store. ON the box it specifically states that it is for Windows 7, compatible with Windows 8!!!!

I bought this today to scan receipts for my small business. I could not scan the receipt until I folded it and put it across the scanner because it wouldn't read the receipt. I was hoping for something portable I could carry with me that would easily read receipts regardless of the size and scan it immediately.

The Epson DS-30 Color Portable Scanner is a handy and efficient product. The size is just right for a portable scanner. The scanner is also scans in great color. The attributes I like the most are the quickness to get the scanner out and the easiness to jump right into scanning, with perfect scans every time. Thank you for this great scanner. I bought this because I wanted a small portable scanner to use with my Dell XPS laptop and Windows 10. It worked well scanning a foreign document (Dutch) and then converting it via the provided software to English (Word & PDF files).

I bought this scanner about 3 mos a go and had significant problems using it. I have only used 3 times and have had to go back to the beginning to get it to work. Today, I am trying to use it, can get the scanner started, i.e, no green light, even though I reinstalled the drivers and utilities. I know this is a very inexpensive scanner, but I expect it to work.

I purchased this scanner at Best Buy about a year ago. However the USB cord did not work. I went back to Best Buy and they did not have the cord in stock but provided me with a regular USB cord. It works but the cord gets loose very easily. As far as the scanner itself, I love it. It is compact and perfect for documents I copy such as files I find for my genealogy projects and/or papers I need to send to various businesses, such as my retirement company where I need to send approvals. I do not use it for heavy workload.

The scanner looks good. So far no issues. However for improvement - maybe Epson should consider the following. Many of the new notebooks come without an optical device (DVD as an example). A quick description informing customers to access web site, support page and download the driver would help. Just a quick note.
