Fujifilm XF 56mm (85mm) F/1.2 Lens
The Fujifilm XF 56mm (85mm) F/1.2 Lens is designed to fit the Fujifilm X series APS-C-sized mirrorless digital cameras. A prime portrait-length lens, it provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 85mm. A bright f 1.2 maximum aperture greatly benefits selective focus control and also aids in shooting in low-light conditions. A powerful 56mm lens, it features an internal focusing system, as well as the use of a stepping AF motor. This focusing system, and stepping AF motor ensure quiet, smooth, and precise focusing capabilities that are ideal for both still and video applications. One double-sided aspherical element, two extra-low dispersion elements, and four front-facing convex elements are integrated into the optical design to reduce chromatic aberrations and to benefit overall image clarity and sharpness. An HT-EBC multi-layer coating helps to minimize ghosting and lens flare for higher contrast and an additional coating has been applied to the rear side of the front-most lens element to further reduce ghosting that is common to lens designs with deep concave elements. Offered in new condition only, and with free shipping!

Product Highlights

  • Prime short telephoto-length lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 85mm
  • Bright f/1.2 maximum aperture is well-suited to low-light shooting and for controlling focus placement
  • An HT-EBC multi-layer coating minimizes lens flare and ghosting
  • High-speed precision stepping autofocus motor is ideal for quickly and accurately acquiring focus
  • An internal focusing mechanism maintains the overall lens length during focus for faster, more reliable performance
  • Finely-tuned metal focus and aperture rings benefit overall handling and durability

From the Manufacturer

A fast F1.2 lens with a focal length of 85mm* that delivers beautiful background bokeh so it's ideal for portraiture. The lens' incredible resolving power is thanks to a new optical design featuring 11 elements in 8 groups. Two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements and one double-sided aspherical element are used to control spherical and chromatic aberrations, while a further four of the elements feature convex surfaces to ensure excellent light coverage, even when shooting wide open.

Like other XF lenses, the XF56mmF1.2 R is designed to be comfortable in use and has a premium quality look and feel.

best XF lens so far

This lens has surpassed my XF 35mm(50mm), which I believe was the best XF lens Fuji had made to date. This lens is perfect for portraiture, has incredible optics, sharpness and bokeh. It is very fast, works wonderfully in low light and is very well made. Feels a serious as the price. Stunning lens

By

My opinion is probably influenced by the fact that I've been shooting mostly with canon kit lenses (and one L lens)... But I can honestly say the photos from this lens on my XE-1 have have put my portrait photography on a new level. The light quality of the images is bright, even and just scrumptious. People have complimented me on my photos more in the last month than in the last year. The sharpness edge to edge, even wide open is fabulous. The size is bigger and heavier than the 18-55, but I got used to it quickly. This lens on my Fuji XE-1 still feels like a small portable camera. Focusing accuracy and speed is on par with the 18-55 (which is fair to good depending on the amount of contrast and light). There certainly is a learning curve for shooting with it wide open. I've missed quite a few shots because two people weren't on exactly the same plane, for example. Also, it's so fast wide open that I'm going to have to reconfigure my go-to settings for adding fill flash. (I guess I could just stop it down to 5.6 or something, but where's the fun in that?) About one month in with this lens, and I don't think I will ever take it off. It's simply amazing.

Love this lense

Shoot this lense wide open most of the time, amazing Brokah, excellent for portrait, my go to lense since I bought it. A great combination with the xt1. You will not be disappointed.

The Best for CMOS sensor cameras!

By

This lens produces some of the sharpest IQ I've ever seem in CMOS cameras. The bokeh is also very nice and creamy. You'll be very happy with it if you've never own or shot with full frame DSLR at similar focal length. However, when compared to true full frame cameras, it still has too much DOF even at f/1.2. If shallow DOF is a must, full frame is is only way to go.

Stunningly gorgeous lens

By

If you are shooting with the x-t1, this would be the first lens I'd get. I know it is usually considered a portrait lens, but I think it's more versatile than that...for shooting landscapes, architecture, etc. Gorgeous bokeh and color rendering.

Fuji 56mm leaves all others in the dust!

By

I own the X-e2 & X-t1 + 5 Fuji X lenses, just added the 56mm f/1.2. The sharpness of this lens at 1.2 is beyond belief. At its price point with the hyper quality image level reached, Leica, Nikon, Canon, and Sony, are just following in the dust. I speak from experience over the past 30 years. Add the Fuji color system along with its X lenses, Fuji is the one to own, if you want perfect color. Dr. John Sims

Outstanding lens

By

The 56mm is a real pleasure to use, I mainly use it for portraits and events. Low light is never a problem with this lens a perfect match on the XT1.

Perfect compliment to the X-T1

By

The short of it: equivalent to the 85mm length, fast focus, sharp, awesome in low light, smooth focus ring, solid build, not too heavy. Images are amazing even though the bokeh is not as creamy as my Nikon 85mm 1.4. It is a Prime lens so if you are used to zooms, my advice is to play with it for a few days, get used to the feel of the focal length and then make a decision. I've made mine. This lens is a keeper!

Truly Incredible Lens

By

This very fast lens provides incredible bokeh and excellent sharpness, even wide open. The only potential downside to the lens is the size. In short, it is well worth the investment and an essential lens for X-shooters.
