What an outstanding camera, even though it was made 5 years ago. It blows away my Nikon D7100 and D5300. The sharpness doesn't even compare - plus it has eye and face detect. The 18-55mm DF lens is quite outstanding as well. Very sharp.

I bought this as a second body and it is an exceptional camera at this price. The image quality is great, it is so small and light, and it's so easy to use. The EVF makes you forget about using an optical viewfinder.

I have owned several APSC camera's from several companies and I was always disappointed in some way. Size and lowlight performance never were right for me. The X-E2 has a nice small form factor. Paired with a small sharp lens like the 27mm f2.8 this camera creates stunning images. It's lowlight performance outdoes any other APSC camera by far being usable for me up to the likes of ISO 6400. The vintage look and use of old style dials for shutterspeed also give this camera a certain appeal. If you are looking for a small, light camera that will give you excellent image quality you should look no further than this wonderful little camera!

i bought this camera after many solid reviews and longing for something lighter and a good as my Canon 50D. Well I am not disappointed. The Fuji XE 2 is a camera that lets me photograph without having to feel all the extra bulk of a DSLR. The electronic viewfinder is a dream come true. Feels like i'm walking around with a point and shoot but I'm not. I may change the kit lens that it came with for prime lens in the future but It's still a solid lens. All in all this is a great camera and I have used it more then my Canon.and carry it around with me all the time I mean all the time.

This is hands down my favorite camera for real life. I have about 6 Film bodies, 5 rangefinder film cameras, a Nikon DX7000, and a sony Rx100 ii for comparison, and the xe2 is the camera I take everywhere. I've already started selling the other stuff. I will always have a DLSR with a 50mm 1.4 and 70-200 2.8 for weddings, sports and wildlife that I make money on, but I do very little of that. This camera shines for working like a pro camera and if you set it up right you are almost never in the menus and just spend your time shooting. It excels at everyday life, street shooting, landscape, and just being the best all around camera of absolute great quality. Mix that with the fact that the fuji lens line up is fantastic, and that with the adapters available for fuji x you can shoot all your old lenses, and you have a true winner. I shoot landscape with an old voigtlander 15mm and couldn't be happier with the results. As an old film guy, half the time I just leave the xe2 in black and white mode and on jpeg fine and I feel like I'm shooting with a leica but with autofocus and less hassle. If you are a big sports photographer, nothing will ever compete with your DLSR for speed and accuracy of focus. This is a camera for taking the best artistic photos without a lot of weight and size, but that just creates the most beautiful images. It feels and shoots more like a rangefinder than a DSLR, which is why leica guys pick one up and still shoot their leica lenses on it. You can even pickup old russian lenses with a leica mount and get some of the best bokeh you could want. With the 18mm lens on it which is a fairly underrated lens in my opinion it fits in your jacket pocket and you will outshine anything I've ever seen in a point and shoot. Fuji gets high remarks for updating their software by the way and most of the issues of slow focus have been or will be taken care of to an acceptable level. If you don't care about lenses so much then get the X100s for the same fun factor and ease of use. The xe2 is also the funnest camera I've ever shot with. I get to focus on my art, not messing around with menus. It is what it is and what it is is great as long as your not trying to make it compete with a $4000 DSLR, but even when I do compare it with the incomparable it still shines for the reasons mentioned above. You can't loose on any fuji lens, but you will have to pick unless you have an unlimited budget. The 18-55 is an awesome lens, especially for a kit lens, but I never use it. If I want a lens that heavy I would rather it be the 56 1.2 which is good enough to shoot pro weddings. I use mine with the cheap but awesome 18mm almost all the time, and pull out the bigger lenses for stuff I want to sell. The extended handgrip that allows for battery and sd card removal is amazing and changes the entire feel of the camera and I very highly recommend it.

The camera is significantly more responsive than the x-e1. Also there is less noise on high-iso pictures.

Hobby/Enthusiast I'm still learning this camera but love the results I'm getting with it so far. I've sold my Canon Rebel with 2 zoom and 1 prime lens and am not missing them after using this. I will eventually buy a prime for this camera though. I also tried the Samsung NX300 for a short while before going for this Fuji. This is by far my favorite.

I was really curious and eager to purchase the Fuji X-E2 camera after reading some preliminary reviews and seeing some sample pictures taken with this model in very low light conditions. I believe that the quality of the still pictures cannot be surpassed at the price level of Fuji X-E2. Not even at double its price. However, the pure stills quality and the sensor abilities cannot alone define an excellent camera. There is more that goes into a piece of technology like this, for example autofocus. In this sector the Fuji X-E2 is adequate (it's ok I would say) but nothing to really "brag about". At the same time, the video capabilities of this camera are very limited and the image quality of the movies made with it is just average, often unsatisfying. This being said, if you do not care much about video and you are not as fast at pointing and "autofocusing" your camera as Buffalo Bill was at reaching his peacemaker, then this is now (mid April 2014) your best bet. Enjoy!

Haven't used this nearly as much as I would like, but a couple of things are apparent: it's a very well made piece of equipment and the optics (xf 18mm f2 lens) are superb. The biggest drawbacks that I can see are the controls and user interface, neither of which are very intuitive. I have to say that I *hate* the placement of the exposure compensation dial--in so prominent a place for an adjustment that is used (by me anyway) so infrequently. Nevertheless, I consider all that part of the learning curve in dealing with a new piece of digital equipment--my hands just have to learn how to deal with it. That aside, this thing takes great pics. White balance sensor, light meter seem spot on to me. The evf is truly a thing of beauty: 100% coverage and big and bright. Nice feature that I never before noticed on a camera is that the viewfinder displays the effects of the exposure compensation as it is dialed in, pre-shot. Also, the autofocus seems fast and accurate--at least fast enough for me. I don't shoot sports, but actions shots of my dogs playing came out beautifully.

I am very pleased with the camera. Photos with the kit lens are very sharp and contrasty. Most amazing to me is the quality of the B&W images, which are the best I have seen out of a digital camera, including my Canon 6D. I bought the camera primarily for travel. I tried the G12, but was not satisfied with the IQ, shutter lag, and the optical viewfinder. I like this camera so much I wonder if I will use my 6D again...........

Weather here has been pretty lousy since I bought the camera, so I haven't had much opportunity to play with it. What little I've done inside has been just fine. It will take a little getting used to as any new piece of equipment does. I'm anxious to get out and put it through its paces. The split-image focus assist hasn't been as good as I expected. Maybe there's some setting(s) that I need to figure out. I use "ACDSee Pro 7" for editing and the support for .raf raw files doesn't exist yet, so I haven't been able to explore raw files. From what I've read on various forums, the .jpg files created by this camera are some of the best. Maybe raw will not be much of an issue for me after all. So far, what's really not to like: 5 stars.

This camera has a learning curve with all the settings, but the jpegs straight out of camera are awesome and the RAW files are are there too if you need them. And so lightweight compared to my old full size DSLR! An although the reports say the battery life isn't as long, I haven't really seen that too much.

I traveled to New Zealand with this camera and the 18-55, 55-200, and 14mm lenses. This camera did an outstanding job, and the 18-55 mm lens is so versatile - produces great images across its range - hard to believe it is a "kit" lens - far exceeds the quality of any other kit lens I've used. The camera handles well, is easy to use, and I am so happy with the images from it. I have not processed any of the raw files yet, but the JPEGs are beautiful straight out of camera. Minimal weight for the system, which was great since we were walking and hiking a lot on both north and south islands. Would not have dreamed of lugging around a FF system as much as we walked, including the 20 km Tongariro alpine crossing. I can get superb image quality from the Fuji system. Very happy with purchase and performance. I did not shoot much video with it, so cannot comment on the video performance.

I have been using DSLRs since 2006. The X-E2 is the first mirrorless body which seemed to me to equal the imaging capability of a DSLR with similar usability (autofocus, ergonomics, etc.). I've been using the X-E2 for a couple of weeks and I can cheerfully confirm that it's awesome. I'm very happy I made the switch. Autofocus with Fuji's new phase-detect sensor is quite fast, though hard to compare directly with my DSLR since I'm shooting with different lenses. Manual focus with focus peaking and 100% pixel zoom in the EVF is very usable, so my AF-D Nikon primes work just fine with an inexpensive adapter. Exposure is very easy to nail with the live histogram and dedicated exposure control dial. The X-Trans sensor sharpness and high ISO performance are amazing. The built-in flash isn't terribly powerful but I love that I can use a high ISO and use a small amount of fill flash to get a natural-looking shot. Fuji's 27mm pancake lens is excellent and I have every reason to believe reviews indicating the rest of Fuji's X mount lens lineup is just as good or better. It's a great camera and a great system.

I have been waiting for a digital camera that would give me tack sharp images and take me back to the days of shooting with my Nikon F3. I was getting tired of lugging around a D300, and getting "soft images" that needed a ton of post production. The X-E2 is providing tack sharp images, rich colors, and it feels like a camera should. Maybe that is a bit of nostalgia, but even at 47 what can I say. The camera is fantastic and I am thrilled with the image quality, the film simulation, and flexibility of the camera itself. I can not be happier and love the fact that I finally have tack sharp, saturated images from the download. I like the menu set up with the Q button which allows quick changes to camera settings and access to the custom menus. I can say the same thing for the two function buttons that allow easy access to changing settings. The ability to change shutter speeds with the control wheel is also welcome as it offers incremental steps with the shutter speed. I have found the focus to be quick and responsive in most conditions. The manual focus split screen and ability to zoom in for critical focus is an excellent feature. I have found the EVF needs a bit getting use to and I am not thrilled with the fact that I can not simply shut off the LCD screen and then access it with a button when I want it. I hope that a firmware upgrade will do something about the EVF/LCD choices where one has the LCD off unless you want it on. I have tried the LCD off and it forces you to access menus and photos through the EVF and that is difficult. As a result of having the LCD on the camera eats up batteries, so buy a second or third and have them handy. It seems that you go from full charge to nothing quickly.

Great update to already excellent camera. Improvement is almost all departments. Lens is good as well and very versitile. It is slower than primes though. My main use is fir landscape photography and for long hikes this Little beast cannot be beat. I leave my Canon brick in a trunk most of the time.

I use it for landscapes and stils. Not good for action shots...birds in particular. Too slow to focus. Great camera and very glad I bought it.
