This PC is better than I expected. It is so much faster than my old PC. The screen is very sharp. Even the PC itself looks cool. The disk drive is so quiet you can't hear it when it's operating. It boots up in a fraction of the time than my old PC. I am thoroughly satisfied that I bought the right PC.

Performance: Hand over fist, the best machine I have owned. With eight gigabytes of RAM and the i7-2670QM, the combination could not be any better. I run a CPU usage gadget in Windows 7 which shows me how much of each core is being used as well as the amount of RAM deployed for the current operations... the computer handles everything with incredible efficiency. Display: Leaves a little to be desired. I certainly wish it was an 1080P HD display. Overall, movies look brilliant, but could always be better. Drives, storage, ports, etc: The ports are laid out well and make sense so as not to cause any issues when plugging things in. 1 TB drive is a little slow at 5400RPM, but gets the job done quite nicely. 7200RPM drive would have made the computer perfect in this aspect. But the amount of storage for this type of computer is unheard of, thus making it an incredible value. Sound: I cannot explain how incredible this computer sounds for music and movies. My girlfriend and I listen to music all the time on this machine and movies on Blu-Ray sound amazing. I can't applaud Beats and HP enough for teaming up to create something so incredible for laptop sound. Battery Life: AMAZING. I can go an entire day using this computer for mixed purposes and I can't get through the entire battery if I tried. Keyboard: Feels a bit cheap under the fingers, but gets the job done. Not much else I can say about that.

The overall performance is as expected. My comparison is to my custom desktop with a 3GHz 6 processor, water cooled system. The i7 core runs my engineering programs very well. The display is more than sufficient.

I like this laptop overall, but HP is not exactly being straight-forward about being upgradable. Yeah it's upgradable to 16GB if you can afford to pay $1484.85 x2 for two sticks of memory part#634091-001, 1333MHz, PC3-10600 memory shared. Do the math... that's $2967.70 to upgrade to 16GB for a laptop worth ~$1300. So now you are forewarned before buying this product!

This machine looks amazing, it operates amazingly. It's a pleasure to own. The power adapter that it came with was faulty. HP sent me a new cord the next day. Other than that, the performance and design have made this purchase quite satisfying.

I purchased this laptop for work and personal use. For both I use resource intensive programs. It has performed very well and I would highly recommend it to others. The audio system is a great bonus as well.

This is a very good machine, solidly built, with great features. The display is crisp and clear, the keyboard and ports are laid out logically, and it does a number of things - like switching graphics pages - blazingly fast. It recognizes and connects to local wireless networks virtually automatically while my wife - with another brand laptop - has to mess around at length just to find a network, let alone connect. A lot of people complain about the Pavilion keyboards, but this one seems solid enough to me. Certainly no worse than anything I've used on other brands. But that still doesn't mean it's a great keyboard - it's a good keyboard. I'd like to give it 5 stars for performance, but I can't. I tried a less expensive dv6 prior to buying this one, and while I haven't used this one extensively yet, I really don't see much of a performance boost. It's possible that's related more to the chosen operating system than the machine's technical processing power. Like I said, some things go very, very fast. But you might as well go make tea when you first boot it up because it's going to be a while. The aluminum case that came on the quick-ship model I bought is very nice - I've actually gotten compliments on it. And, the "hump" on the battery that tilts the entire unit up and forward a little bit makes typing a lot easier than on a unit that lays flat on the desk. Overall, for the price, I call this a pretty good choice. I'd recommend it to others without hesitation.
