Many years ago at another JOB I had use of a hp 41 C with snap in application cards. For finance & everyday now that I am retired; this is a great pocked sized technology tool.

I bought the original 30 years ago and still use it. Bought the 25-yr anniversary edition to replace the original when (or IF) it dies -- but the original refuses to die! I bought this 30th anniversary edition for sentimental reasons. At this rate, my grandkids will inherit both new ones in perfect working order. The hp-12c is a perfect example of what Hewlett Packard thinks of "planned obsolescence" -- it's the "Byron the Bulb" (check Gravity's Rainbow) of calculators. Way to go, HP!

Best financial calculator out there. The only disappointment is that my original one has "Made in USA" stamped on the back and this new one does not.

The HP-12C is HP's longest (since 1981, 30 years of success) and best selling calculator. Why does it continue to steadily sell, despite HP's selling other calculators that are faster and have more features? It's pure RPN, easily learned, and has just the right combination of features at a decent price for the business user. It may be its look, however, that makes it triumph. The Voyager calculator form, HP(10,11,12,15,16)c has a compact, classic, horizontal style that instantly distinguishes it from all other calculators. It's look simply states, it's all business.
