Good machine

A very nice printer. Would like to see more detail on setting up the printer in the form of a manual.

Wireless Problems

The setup for having wireless access to the printer is very confusing and doesn't work on Windows 7, Windows XP, and Macintosh laptop. This was also the case in other HP Printers with copy and scanning features. Otherwise these printers are quite good.

A Fine Printer

I really like this printer. I was able to put it together with no problems, installed the software and had it up and running in no time. My Windows 7 computer found it just fine. I have read reviews on various sites on this printer about how it was hard to set up, how noisy it is, how slow it is and I do not find that at all. It prints much faster than the other printer I had had, a Deskjet 5940, which recently broke.

Envelope Printer

I purchased the HP Officejet 6000 solely for printing small quantities of envelopes. It has worked out very well.

Terrible lack of documentation

The printer works fine, but installation wiped out the icon I had to control my HP Scanjet scanner. Now I have no optical character recognition software. There is no users manual and no explanation of buttons on printer.

Not for mailing lables

Not for mailing lables! Paper feed ripped the gummed mailing lables from the sheet causing massive jambs of the printer head. I have four (4) other printers and they all work well with gummed mailing lables! Sending it back!

This sucks

This is the first HP product that I've bought. Well the printer worked great intill first paper jam. Cleared jam and not I have a faulty printerhead. I tried the owners manual way of reseting printer head and nothing works. I assume that I need to replace my printer head that cost around $55.00 and what I paid for the printer was $89.99. I guess that I will just replace the printer with a different brand and never buy any Hp Products again. No Printer, No computer, nothing. very dissapointed and dissatified. You spend 89.99 on a printer, run 1048 pages through it for the first jam, put another 55.00 dollers into it?? I figured being an HP product it would last longer than this. So sad. They lost my business forever. Thanks

Poor performance

I have had this printer for several months and it really is a poor quality machine. The paper jams up almost every time I try to use the duplex function, it burns through ink faster than any printer I have owned, and using the control panel to execute manual functions is not user friendly. Today the printer finally died. A piece fell out of the back and it no longer will load paper without jamming. I looked in the users manual to see if there was some kind of direction for replacement of this part but there is nothing about it. The piece doesn't look like it has broken but rather fell out of the machine. I would avoid this printer, I am not sure there are better HP printers available but this printer isn't worth the time or money to buy.

Does the Job

HP Printer is easy to use, and produces great color lables. Inexpensive price of the printer, plus free shipping made the purchase a "No brainer". Shipping Fedex was the best, as I was able to track the printers movement, and it was delivered in great condition and on time. Thanks!

Is ok but not completely up to date.

This is a good printer, and I especially like the multiple tanks. My only complaint is the fact that even though the printer came out after Windows 7, the software is not compliant with it.

Don't understand all the complaining reviews

This machine retails for very little money compared with larger machines. Based on the reviews, I was a bit concerned. Fortunately I have to say that this machine does everything a larger one does. Regular printing, no problem. Envelopes? Easy. I think some folks with negative comments just don't understand how to use a printer. I will say that my expectations were low based on price and reviews. I am truly surprised what a great machine this is, and the price can't be beat. The proof will be in the ink cartridge consumption. And, to play it safe, for $6, I picked up the Office Depot 2 year warranty, so how much do I really have to lose?

Poor ink system

The ink cartridge system is complex, with 5 separate inserts and very expensive. Replacement will be difficult. This was NOT noted in the advertisment. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Can't beat pricing w/ new PC purchase

Performance is average by today's inkjet standards (ie: resolution & print quality are both very good, speed from idle is not so good). Final judgement will be a function of the printhead's durability. Given its 7000 page duty cycle, I expect it to last lots longer than some of the other similarly priced options.

Great printer

I have had this printer in my office for about a year now. I have read some of the other reviews and can't believe what has been written there. This printer is quiet, quick and excellent. I haven't had a single problem with it. I in fact pruchased one for my home. I do not use the ethernet connection but instead connect with a usb cable ( that may be the problem with some of the slow printing, and slow initiation). I use the HP printers to pound out a lot of color signs sometimes on heavier paper with no problem. Overall this is the best HP printer that I have ever used.

Good Printer

The print quality of this machine is great for what I have used it for. However, I use this printer for a variety of tasks, and found it to be lacking in a couple of key areas. With the initial setup and installation on my Windows XP machine, I found it to have a long delay (up to a couple of minutes) between clicking the print button and the machine actually making any kind of noise to indicate printing was about to start. Ironically, while I was trying to troubleshoot, my computer was attacked by a virus unrelated to the HP support webpage, so I was unable to determine if I could have solved the problem myself. Our tech support staff reinstalled my computer with Windows 7, and the delay in printing is no longer existant.

Even better than my last HP printer!

Unpack it, turn it on and tell Windows 7 to use it...all done! How can a setup be easier than that?

Great Printer

I really enjoy my HP printer. I had always used another brand, but it was hard to put the ink in and the colors were not always correct, so thought I would give the 6000 a try. I am happy with my purchase and the customer service is tops. Dee L

Going to return product

Beware !!! the printer goes to sleep mode in 15 min. and there is no option to control it (or disable it). Windows 7 systems unable to restart spooling after the printer goes sleep mode. HP tech support is silent on this issue (Ticket#8049967152). Otherwise, this printer is good and reliable.

Didn't last long

I bought this at the end of November 2010 from Staples. It made good prints but would quit communicating with the computer so I had to reinstall it a couple of times. Sometime in Feb. it quit printing with a paper jam alert but there was no paper in there, took it back to Staples, no help there as the 60 day period was over(barely). We took it home and it started working but a couple weeks later it again said paper jam. I went through all the trouble shooting and got on the chat site and went through all his suggestions with no luck. He finally said it was a hardware problem and Hp would replace it. I did not want it replaced as besides not working it sounded like a threshing machine. Hp did give me a generous gift card(I had bought it on sale) and sent me a voucher to send it away to be recycled. So Hp support A printer F

Worthless

Bought this wireless printer since we have two laptops and a desktop. Rarely works. Have to turn it on and off several times to get it to print, even from the desktop. Ink cartridges cost almost as much as the printer. I'm going back to an Epson.

Stay Away From This Printer

Will not continue printing if even one cartridge is out of ink. Recently, even once I replace the ink, the printer refuses to continue printing and shows no ink so I have to tinker endlessly to get it to work. Previously had a Dell with NO PROBLEMS and only one color cartridge for all colors; no difference in quality. Buy this only if you want hassles fifty percent of the time you need to print.

When it works

When it works it a great printer despite all the gyrations it goes thru after you print something. The huge problem is it constantly loses connectivity. The printer is basically useless.

The Best Purchase Ever

I am very happy with this printer. HP makes great products and that's why I went ahead and bought this printer. It's a newly purchased. It works for my needs, good quality printing. It was very easy to install, wasn't complicated and is perfect for my needs. My dad has an HP printer and this is very similar to his. I would definitely recommend this printer to someone.

I have owned HP printers for 20 years...

..and this is by far the worst. Badly designed, poorly constructed, and just plain cheesy. Swills ink, takes forever to print, and is very noisy. The idea of moving the print heads from the indivudual color cartridges to one part for which you CANNOT GET A REPLACEMENT when it fails (and it will) may have seemed like a good idea to HP's cost cutters, but makes this printer throwaway junk. This printer is just over a year old (and out of warranty) but is already useless and not repairable (by contrast, I have 30 year-old HP calculators that still work like new). You get what you pay for, but this product is unworthy of HP.

Way too noisy

This is a good little printer, performs well, easy to setup, nice to use. But the noise level while the inks go back and forth drive me and my office partner crazy. We are currently looking to buy a new printer because we simply cannot stand the noise of this one.

Paper Feed Sometimes

I purchased this printer from HP Online. From right out of the box the printer would not feed the paper for the intial alignment printout, had to play with it for about 30 minutes before it would take the paper and print. Many times it would take the paper but multible sheets at a time and then indicate a paper jam. I finally got it to it was taking the paper OK. It seems it is very fussy as to how you load the paper. Printer now will work as a general rule but if let to set for a while before you print again or you let the paper get to low it will not feed the paper again. I have nothing but good printers form HP this is the first one that was DOA out of the box. If they had had the 7000 printer with wireless I would of bought it.
