Poor Scanner

Purchased 3 N8420 Scanners and all three are scanning issues. Try to scan and it freezes is one major issue. Another issue is trying to save the scanned document to a destination, you will received a SDSS error and it logs you out of the software. The scanner was installed using software from HP's website and then tried using the CD software that came with the scanner. Under device manager it shows the scanner. There must be a communication error between scanner and computer. Tried installing the scanner on two different types of HP computers. Still no success!
