Tilted and out of date

As the other review stated it's tilted and makes alignment of the target difficult. Using Vuescan you can make a RAW scan and tilt the output. I found -1.1 worked. Wether or not profiling off of a RAW scan is best remains to be seen. It is however far more accurate than not profiling at all. When I went to Kodak's website for the profile file the records didn't go back as far as the slide I received. Vuescan does have a default file if no it8 profile is present. This is still far more accurate than before profiling. If you need a target at this price point it will work. You will need to fuss with it more. If you want something a lot easier get the more expensive Kodachrome slide. For me I have more time than money.

Great Service for Problem Product

The product is a color grid mounted in a slide film frame used to calibrate scanners. The slide film was not mounted accurately and sat at an angle within the frame. This made the slide hard to use during scanning. I was able to complete the task after three tries, and I physically adjusted the slide film to get a better alignment.

About Kodak IT8 8752222 35mm Transparency Target for Scanners

Used to profile positive film scanners, particularly if you use 35 mm film most often.

IT8 Input Targets are the industry standard, and are needed to create profiles for scanners, digital cameras, and PhotoCD.

Every IT8 target is matched with a "reference file" -- a computer data file that contains the numerical values for the exact colors used in the target. Because your profiling software must compare the colors from the target with the reference file, it's important to be sure you're using the reference file that matches your target.
