I wanted to make finished display prints of some older negatives that require the flexibility of VC paper to print well. Without filter the results were too contrasty but adding a #2 Ilford filter lowered contrast just enough. VC allowed me to burn with different filters where needed. Very happy with the results.

I bought this for my final project in my darkroom 1 class. If you are moving from rc paper (which is what I had previously used) the exposure times will be longer than you are used to but the finished prints are beautiful.

I have never developed my own film before now, let alone watch my pictures magically appear on a white surface. It's a great experience to have and I'm glad that I came to Adorama first.

This brand was suggested by a professor and since it works well, I have not had any thoughts about trying cheaper brands. It is consistent in its development manners.

Wish there was a semi-gloss version that had the crispness but not quite as glossy... also double weight papers back in the day seemed more substantial and didn't curl or crease as easily when air drying prints by archival methods. I do like the tonal range and brilliance of the paper.

I have used this product for 2 years at my community college. It has produced a nice tonal range for black and white prints. It requires 2 minutes development time versus RC paper, but the longevity of the print and the tonal range make up for it. This is moderately priced paper. I have not tried many others, but haven't heard of anything better either. Some cons: When the prints dry, they tend to curl up. If you dry them on screens, this is minimalized by keeping a screen on top. Once dry, it can be further flattened in a heavy book. If you have a dry mount press, then you're in even better shape!

I had to buy this paper for my photo class at school and was very happy with the quality. The only thing I thought could be better was the way it is packaged. It might be easier if the bag that the paper is in is a little smaller so it fits in the box a bit easier. Other than that, the paper itself is solid.

I've been using this paper for 8 years. I occassionally compare it with other papers and always return to Ilford for quality and consistencly.
