I have used Ilford VC paper for thirty years. The Multigrade IV is fast enough that exposure times are quick, and develops quickly - about 40 seconds in Ilford Iffospeed paper developer. All great for when I have to make a lot of prints. The client I delivered prints to today really liked the image quality. .

This RC paper put out by Ilford is quite an improvement over what I've tested 30 years ago. The maximum black that I can obtain from the current emulsion is beyond 2.00, which is about what I was able to get back in the 1980s. Back then I was hard pressed to get 2.20 even when I toned the RC paper. Now I can easily attain that with the current emulsion (toned). Untoned I am currently getting 2.10. I also like the tonal separation that I get from their paper. I use a gray scale that I made that covers a density range of 1.65 and I have a total 21 steps. I can easily see 18 steps of those 21. The steps from 18 to 21 are distinguishable by the densitometer while the human eye sees the last 3 steps as identical. This paper is highly recommended.

This product from Ilford is always good. What disturbed me was that it arrived with the seals to the box torn that the manufacturer put on to make sure it is light proof. So far I've had no problems, but the seals are there for a reason and should not have been opened prior to sale.
