The filters are extremely helpful in the darkroom. Even if the price wasn't so high, the build quality would still be poor. Given that the price is actually very high, the build quality is insanely poor. The plastic filter housings are held together with heat spot welds which are only half secure as some of them arrived new but not held together. The filters themselves are sandwiched between the plastic housing but some of mine are cut too small and do not cover the opening when they shift around. The case that they are housed in in just a bad design that lacks a hinge and is unstable. Finicky to use in the dark but give good results. I wonder if the Foma filters are made better???

These are great. I bought em to replace a set of larger ones that have been starting to get scratched up after only using them for a year. The results a always consistent and they are easy to swap one out for another. Should of bought this set last year.

The twelve MULTIGRADE filters are numbered 00-5 in 1/2 steps, with the lowest filter number corresponding to the softest contrast. Filters are available in sets of filters 8.9 x 8.9cm (3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches) and 15.2 x 15.2cm (6 x 6 inches). They can be used above or below the lens and can be cut to fit the enlarger filter drawer. Filter sizes 30 x 30cm (11.8 x 11.8 inches) are available to special order.
MULTIGRADE filters are very easy to use: no complicated calculations are needed when changing from one filter to another. The exposure time for filters 00-3 1/2 is the same; that for filters 4-5 is double.
