I'm not entirely sure what it protects. I know that it won't protect it from falls and I'm going to be purchasing a rubber one for that purpose. That said, it's good looking and unobtrusive.

I have been using this case for about three weeks. Some grit has gotten between the phone and the case. Also, the text on the case is kind of funny, kind of annoying. (it says iLuv New York)
