I tend to go through about one card reader a year for some reason; they simply stop working after a bit -- perhaps I use them more frequently than they're designed for, or perhaps their working life is only about a year. In any case, this one is the most reliable CF-card readers I've used. My one complaint is that the cover constantly jumps off its track and I sense it's impending demise. This is the first reader that I'd consider replacing with a duplicate, though, despite the flimsiness of the cover, due to its fast data transfer and relative overall reliability.

The only thing that would improve this product is an always connected FW cord or plug. You might always remember to bring the small cord with you, but if you forget, you can't connect this device.

This card reader is so much faster than a USB card reader. These days with compactflash cards getting bigger and bigger, USB takes too long to download. This is a great card reader. They don't get any better than this right now.
