However, I don't know anything about the golden one so cannot make a comparison. Clenton ShanksBRUCE T : I believe it is just a packaging redesign.STEVE A : Yep, need to be a little more specific when you say "golden one" more than happy to assist answering any questions, but this is very vague.MARK L : Not sure without knowing the model number, but probably the read/write speed. The speed is just like the speed rating of a recordable CD or DVD. 600x is about 90MB/sec. The true speed that you get will also be determined by several factors i.e. the camera capabilities as well as the type of connection to your computer such as the capabilities of the reader that you use and how it is connected to your computer, via USB2 or firewire or USB3, etc. Just google CF read/write speeds and you will find lots of articles. Absent this, if you are referring to another Lexar CF card, the difference is probably in the card's write speed, e.g., 600X is twice as fast as 300X, and a little more than half as fast as 1000X.VINCENT G : I'm afraid I have nothing t compare it to. However, I am very pleased with the performance of this card. I've not had any bad photos as a result of the card, only the use by the "photographer", ME!

Formatting Problems

Card exhibits formatting issues. Could not format in camera, had to send back. Card returned did not format in camera, but still took pictures.

Lexar Quality

Lexar CF cards have never failed on me. I always carry several when shooting a wedding or event, but I've only had to switch cards when they were near capacity.

Perfect!

Used for weddings, sports or just portraits. When shooting raw files there is still a lot of room and the write speed is great.

Lexar 8 GB 600x CF memory card

This is an outstanding memory card and I was able to purchase it at a reasonable price. But, 8 GB is too little memory for me. I like the 600x for video but the 8GB gets filled up real fast. I recently purchased a larger memory card (32GB) but slower speed 266x. After using each of them for a month or so, I'll have a better grasp on which I prefer.

It's the best in it's class right now.

This one is as good as it gets. I own 4 of these and right now they are fast as you can get for the price. They are starting to drop in cost also which is making them a better deal. Will probably get (2) of the 16GB versions next when I have the chance. You can't go wrong with this unit.

Bought this for my Nikon D300 as an upgrade from an 8G 300x. so now I have 2 great CF Cards. Lexar is my CF card of choice. I also use them in musical equipment for MIDI/WAV recording.

Super Card, Good Value when on sale

Made a difference in download speed to the HD but did not work any faster in the camera than the 300x UDMA Cards. Still, when on sale worth the cost.

Great for a Canon 5D Mark II

Great card with lots of storage. When I purchased my Canon 5D Mark II, the dealer suggested this card. I have stuck with this brand and have been very pleased with the results.
