Questions & Answers

tom r : does this cover a stuck lens?MARY H : Sorry about your lens! I have no idea whether they would cover this or not. Perhaps you should contact Mack.
DAVID M : Does this warranty cover factory refurbished items?GARY W : Yes, they do as long as you buy it from an authorized dealer. They've covered refurbs for me before.DAVID M : I called Adorama and they said if it still has a manufacturer warranty then I'm golden regardless if its used, refurbished, etc. I bought the 3 year basic.ROBERT P : I don't know. I have used them once & was pleased. Contact them directly with the issue.MIKHAIL F : As far as I know the answer is No. You might want to call Mack to clear it.
Shopper : Can you buy this for a camera bought at another company?ANNE W : I think it depends on when you bought the camera - I've bought a Mack warranty from Adorama and a camera here locally but the purchase of the warranty was only about a week later.TOBY H : I don't know since I bought the warranty with the camera.

No frills and excellent service

My camera had stopped functioning. I was on vacation, and luckily I had a second camera body with me. I called. They did what they could to resolve it over the phone. No go. Mack had me send it to them, and it was returned to my home about 10 or 12 days later. To me, that was FAST! They paid shipping one direction and it had been cleaned and I've had no problems with it since. I recommend a warranty and Mack to most of the people who ask me for advice on what camera, etc. they should get.

Price seems reasonable for the lenth of coverage and the initial price of the camera.

Have not used the extended warranty. Price seems reasonable for the lenth of coverage and the initial price of the camera.

Takes the worry out of taking photos

Having used Mack on previous purchases I considered it a must for all cameras. When my college age daughter's point and shoot was damaged by dropping Mack repaired it to lke new condition, and the turn around time was very quick. Peace of mind for short money.

Safety Net

I bought his warrenty because this camera has moving parts and complex electronics. I usually don't buy such plans but I decided that the cost was low and the protection could be needed even thugh I don't think I'll ever need it with Canon.

Worth it

After doing much research on Mack Camera service quality I went ahead with the 5 year warranty. Well worth the insurance.

A Little Peace of Mind

Purchased this coverage when I bought my Ricoh GXR body in October, 2010. So far, haven't had to use it, but the manufacturer's warranty has expired and it's nice to know I'm covered for the next 4 years. As far as cost goes, it was a bargain!

Fool not to have this today

With todays digital world and electronics still having the habit of not working after manufacturer warranty. I have learned the lesson that this this is not stardard operation for me.

Decent Price- hope I don't need it...

I bought this after much thought. Consumer Reports says that digital cameras are among the most reliable consumer electronics and unlikely to break down. All the same, I thought for [$]/year on a $700 DSLR camera, it sounded like a good deal. The coverage isn't for everything on the camera (some exceptions for the LCD screen, and some other things...) but should cover its repair/replacement if it became unusable.

Great [...]

I used this on my Nikon D80, just after the Nikon warranty had expired. [...] It more than paid for itself the first time. I also have one for my Garmin GPS, used it twice, and got the same great service. Turnaround time for both items was about 10 days, door to door. I won't be without a Mack Camera Warranty on any expensive electronics/camera equipment, especially not at Adorama's prices!

excellent value

too many electronic gadgets break down within a year or two of getting them, regardless of how careful you are in your use of them. I just feel better knowing that if the camera fails for some reason other than mis-handling, I am covered.

Mack 5 year warranty, decent price.

This warranty will cover a new Canon point and shoot,SX10IS , that has many, many, options. I feel better knowing that I am covered for at least 5 years. Altho I don't use my camera as a tennis ball.

Slow Turn-around Time

I bought an extended Mack warranty with my first Olympus camera. One day, the camera simply did not turn on. I sent it to Mack, who determined that it had blown an internal fuse. Also, the sensor had dead pixels, so Mack decided to replace the sensor. I was glad to have the sensor replaced, but Mack had to get it from Japan, so it took 2 or 3 months. This experience was the main reason that I decided to buy expensive items from local shops.
