Just got this tripod and plan to carry it with me at the Grand Tetons laster this summer. Tripod seems sturdy yet lightweight.

I use a D300s with grip and an 80-200 on this tripod and it works well.

Fine quality construction, and smooth operation. I tie a weight on the bottom hook for long nighttime exposures. Easy to reverse column if needed. Easily holds camera and long heavy telephoto lens, despite rather small ball head.

bought this tripod because of the build quality and am very happy with its performance. Fits nicely in my suitcase when traveling. Sets up fast and is very flexible. has most of the features you'd expect from a pro tripod. Stuffs nicely in any backpack with an external water bottle sleeve. All that said, I don't feel comfortable using it with a 100-400 2.8F lens because of the smaller ball head.
