Questions & Answers

Mark M : What size is a size 1 tripod?JAMES L : Induro seems to have copied Gitzo's sizing system - series 0 through 4 denote the size of the leg tubes. The terms "series" and "size" seem to get used interchangeably. The first number in the model number denotes size/series. So an Induro CLT204 has series 2 sized tubes. As I understand it, Induro recommends this head be used with a series 1 or larger tripod leg set, but it should fit on any tripod legs that have a 3/8"-16 threaded stud, including other brands. I use the BHD1 with a set of series 2 legs and consider that a good pairing. Alternately, check the load ratings of both the head and legs and consider the maximum safe load the smaller of the two. Keep in mind, the load rating is the weight they rate the tripod or head to safely support if centered. Most photographers use 1/4 to 1/3 that rating as a rule of thumb to estimate how much weight the tripod will keep stable enough for long exposures.JONATHAN A : I have a CT213. But the ball head would fit any tripod with the correct screw size. Size of a ball head refers to the weight it supports not the tripod. I found the CT213 and the ball head not stable enough for all the situations I face photographing birds so I went to a gimbal.

This Induro bullhead is sturdy and easy to use. For the price, I don't think you can find a better bullhead

Excellent Choise

I received many suggestions from members of my photography forum regarding the choice of ball heads. I finally decided this was the best choice and I was right. Beautifully made, light and strong. A perfect match for my Induro CT114 8X tripod. Nikon D700 with long and heavy telephoto lenses is no problem. I highly recommend this ball head.

Great ballhead with arc compatible QR

I haven't seen a lot of review for this ball head online. But I was looking for a decent price Arca-swiss compatible head and run into this one. [*] the head construction is really good, stable and no cripping with my 30D and 70-200mm F2.8 in all positions. There is two knobs to control the head movement and one for panoramic base. It's a little weird to use at first. But after about 10 minutes, I just fall in love with it. Really great ball head for the money.
