This one of those little parts that for a Nikon camera that no one else makes but Nikon and are hard to find second hand. Good thing these battery covers are fairly indestructible, and still available as new stock for those of us still using D3 cameras.

I use 5 EN-EL4a batteries for the D3s. Each battery and cover is numbered with a label to keep them identified. The BL-4 covers that I bought from Adorama are terrific, fit perfectly. Now I don't have to switch covers to different batteries. Adorama had, by far, the lowest price, and free shipping. Thank you Adoroma.

I bought this to make swapping batteries in and out of my D3 a simple and quick affair. Its design is simple. It is a bit bulky in my bag, but I can accept that for the speed of swapping batteries in the middle of a shoot.

I purchased it as a Back-Up for my D3. It is really a MUST HAVE ... lose the original or drop it in the wrong place, and you are out-of-business.
