People should only use these for "transporting" the camera :O You pay all this $$ for a gorgeous LCD and you view it in the field thru a piece of white plastic....unbelievable.

On a photoshoot in the Arkansas mountains I must have somehow knocked off the LCD monitor screen. Like a UV filter, the LCD monitor screen is a must to protect ones investment.

The screen protects great without interfering with the quality of the images. But it comes off too easily when shooting in the field. I lost mine and didnt realize it until I packed it up.

This part can easily get broken. Because it is necessary to protect the LCD, it must be replaced. Nikon made this simple plastic part somewhat weak and rather expensive ([$]). Part of their revenue stream I suppose.

The Nikon BM-10, Replacement LCD Monitor Cover for D-90 is well worth the money.For a few dollars this will keep your monitor looking like new for years.I ordered three and just replace it when needed.

I normally use my D90 to do outdoor shooting. In one occasion, I scratched my D90 LCD monitor (in less than two months after I bought it), but thanks to the BM-10, it went unharmed. It was then I realise how important the monitor protector is. It is lightweight and easy to use. Nevertheless, it s not durable, and for a piece of plastic, it is relatively expensive.Having said, that I would rather spend $15 than to spend [$]to have my D90's LCD monitor replaced (if scratched, that is).
