I use this camera about 90% of the time for good photos. I have a better Fuji I use for times I need a more accurate picture. This one is easier to carry, so sometimes I make due with it, and I haven't ever been disappointed.

the users guide is so complicated I haven't had the time to sit and study it, therefore, I do not know if i am using the camera to it's fullest. I am hoping that since it is too late to return it without losing money, that when I get to know the camera, I will like it. I hope

I am a seasoned photographer looking for a simple point and shoot to carry around for every day use. I understand it's hard to go from SLR to point and shoot, but I was hoping for a little better than this. I can't seem to get a good picture from this camera. I've tried all the preset modes and either the picture is blurry (kids can only hold so still) or the subject is way blown out. Under absolutely perfect lighting I can get a semi-decent picture, but how often are you presented with perfect lighting? It has plenty of preset modes to choose from... I just can't get a good picture using any of them. Don't let the refurbished thing scare you though... the camera came looking like new. I don't believe this is a refurbished issue... it's a cheap camera issue.

I was looking for an inexpensive but high quality camera as an introduction into the digital world of photography. The Nikon Coolpix L20 is the perfect "starter camera". It's relatively easy to operate for beginners (with excellent instruction booklets), but still offers multi-level, high-tech options enabling you to create photos with great artistic range. The function buttons are easy to navigate BUT I wish that they were on the left hand side of the camera so that I could dedicate my right hand solely to the shutter button & top function keys. Another drawback is that the monitor is not WYSIWYG, especially in the bright sunlight. What You See Is Not What You Get. Many photos appear to have very poor quality when viewed outdoors only to "morph" into high quality images when viewed indoors. Not seeing the actual result in real time is frustrating. However, the size of the monitor is large and ultimately satisfying. The zoom is wonderful and allows close-ups on distance photos already taken, revealing incredible details! The greatest asset of this camera, though, is that it is FUN! It is extremely convenient: small, lightweight & portable, yet also quite rugged. It's beautiful to look at and exciting to use. I'm still not sold on digital photography (I prefer 35mm film), as I feel like I'm taking "snapshots" instead of "photographs". However, I love the Nikon brand so much that just the thought that I own one is motivation enough! I highly recommend this camera and like other owners before me, advise you to read the manuals. I can't imagine people who do not read manuals. You don't know what you are missing and could be cheating yourself and your equipment out of great potential. Treat your camera with respect, no matter how small or what the cost. It's a powerfully creative, absorbing, and transforming artistic tool. My Grade: A+.

I have not used the camera enough for a thorough review. The photo quality is good in all EXCEPT the "Easy Auto" mode. Worthless and fuzzy. Not a great image on the rear monitor - photo comes out better. Fast and easy to use.

I like it, I take a lot of dog pictures as I work with a rescue and though the shutter lag is better than some others it still lags a bit, which makes it difficult when working wiht animals that move about the time it clicks, lol.

This is a great simple camera - easy to use - fast shutter - super features - uses cheap batteries (I like AA NiHd rechargables) - We bought 2 (one for me - one for the wife)
