this camera (my 4th Nikon) has been returned. I am very familiar with Nikon - always good, reliable, durable. this refurbish ($ only 1/2 from regular price) just sucked it would 'turn on' and the lens would extend - but if you didn't push the button just right - the back screen would not show and you couldn't take a picture. If it did open and gave you a view - you had to push the button so hard and firm or it would not take the picture - and by then you had no stability control for a good shot. really am hoping Nikon will replace promptly - I only had it a few days and it stopped working - feel really let down.

I bought this for my teenage son who goes on lots of nature hikes. Its very compact & fits easily into his pocket. The relatively short lag time is great for spontaneous shots(though still can't compete with a SLR). The pictures are clear with good colors & the video is not bad for a point & shoot. note: it comes w/a rechargeble li-on battery which is charged while attached to camera - bit of a disadantage but not terrible.

This is a simple point & shoot camera with good, but not great image quality. A nice camera for the casual family snapshot.

I bought this camera for my teenage son who uses it mainly for social events & scenery on nature walks . He loves that it's so compact & fits in his pants' pocket. It also produces nice clear pictures with good colors & the relatively short lag time is good for spur of the moment shots. (it can't compare with my DSLR but not bad compared to other point & shoot cameras we've had) The camera comes with a rechargeable battery pack which charges while attached to camera.We bought an extra battery but it is a disadvantage that you can't use the camera while recharging. It arrived looking brand new & buying refurbished reduced the price by about $40.Seeing that in a couple of years it'll probably be outdated, I prefer to pay less & buy more often.

I wanted to get a friend a new camera for christmas. She has a hard time learning new technology, because she is so busy. This camera was perfect. It came in BRAND NEW condition, and takes very FAST pictures! She loves it! I used it, and as a "Photo Enthusiast" myself (shooting with a Canon DSLR) this camera is awesome for impromptu photo opportunities.
