the Great beginner setup

This combo is at an unbeatable price point for the beginning photographer to get into high quality image capture. The lenses are satisfactory until you knowledge and experience level grows, but the images you will get from this 24MP DX body will amaze anyone!

Constantly freezes and has No, ZERO customer support.

By

from Seattle, WA

Bought this for a gift on Father's Day. It froze up that afternoon and was returned to the retailer the next day. They said it was a faulty memory card and replaced it. It continued to freeze up. It was returned to the retailer 5 times before they said to send it back to Nikon. Nikon simply cleaned it and sent it back, saying that there was no problem. Granted, it may not have frozen for them, but the repeat history is conclusive. It needed to be replaced on day #1 and was not and now is but an expensive paperweight for it freezes too often to be trusted.

Great bundle

By

from Ohio  -  Photo Enthusiast

I'm an amateur photographer whose D40 died in a rainstorm. This camera is very similar to my old one in size and functionality. It is a bit smaller and weighs a bit less. The photos in the view finder seem lighter than my old one, but that was 8 years old! So far beautiful photos. The package arrived in lightning time. I'm a repeat Adorama buyer, as I've always received exceptional service and speedy delivery.

Best Camera at this Price level

By

from Undisclosed

Compared to the Canon T3i, and the Sony and Fuji offerings, this camera is the winner. It's got the MP advantage, the clarity and focus are great. As an entry level offering, it does offer a lot of options. A flip out or touch screen would really have capped off this camera. Also Nikon needs to offer a Nikon brand vertical grip, I'm using another brand, but the only options are using a cord for the shutter release or not using the vertical release button. A small complaint - that and the flash system on the Canon does seem a bit better. However, the Nikon just has an advantage in clarity, and lack of any distortion even at full open-full zoom. I really like the weight with the added vertical grip and the metering is great even when bouncing a flash. Haven't had it long enough to test it, but the build feels good and solid and the RAW files have really allowed a lot of level of post manipulation on the computer. So far I'm pleased to very pleased. Especially at this price.

Great camera for the price

By

from Wooster, OH  -  Casual Photographer

Bought this for my wife who's into bird watching. Nice camera with high megapixel and combined with the Nikon 55-300mm VR zoom, allows for nice close ups for the amateur birder without spending big bucks on extravagant zoom lenses.

5.0

An excellent camera. Period.

By

from Upstate New York

For an "entry-level" product the Nikon D3200 sure doesn't show it! Photo quality is unbelievable and the camera operates fast in almost any lighting condition. I got the kit which comes with an additional lens (55-200mm zoom lens) and I really like both it and the default 18-55mm lens. Switching between lenses is fast, easy and I'd say even fun. The bag the kit comes with is also very nice. Make sure you get a large-capacity class 10 sd card and you're good to go. Battery life isn't bad either when you're just using the viewfinder but you also have the option to use the camera like a point-and-shoot as well (live view mode.) I'd say this camera is great for anyone. Novice, intermediate and professional photographers alike, the D3200 is easy to operate but has enough features there to please anyone who wants to gain a higher understanding or make use of things like aperture, shutter speed, manual focusing image adjustment etc.. This digital wonder is affordable and worth every penny. I am so happy with it!

Best for the buck!

By

from Sandwich, Illinois  -  Semi-pro Photographer

For quality of product and of image, and for the price, I have to give this 5 stars. In my opinion, the best DSLR under $500.00 bar none. The Canon Rebels are nice, and I own one, but the D3200 is a bit more user friendly, and the images a bit more sharper. As far as the lens goes, Nikon quality. Been using the combo for landscapes, and detail is excellent. Again, if you're looking for a great DSLR, under $500.00, shop around and compare this one, and I think you'll agree, this is the best. I haven't found anything I didn't like about it so far.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

bob m  I have an sb24 flash willit work on this camera?
Andrew R  I suppose it's theoretically possible, however older flash units are not recommend for on camera use with more recent DSLRs. Sync trigger voltage may be quite high and could permanently damage your camera.
Shopper  The lenses in this bundle are non VR. How much for a bundle w/ VR lenses?
HUMBERTO M  Not sure how much it would be but I would pressure it would be more expensive as the lens that includes it's the cheaper version.
Bill W  What does (non VR) mean?
Andrew R  VR stands for Vibration Reduction. "Non VR" would indicate that the lens does not have VR.
