Bought a refurbished Nikon D5100 body only a few weeks back. Extremely happy with the way the body looktd AND had that new camera smell too. Indexing photo ran through Opanda software ant it showed 1 image made on the shutter actuation data. My daughter loved the camera and I loved the price, service and fast shipping. Definitely going to be purchasing more from adorama !

I am proud to be the owner of Nikon D5100. I pay attention to details that this camera gives me. Manual is very well written and easy to follow. I will never part from it. I hope you like this camera as much as I do. Your pictures will be amazing.

This is the best camera deal I have purchased yet. This refurbished Nikon, D5100 is in brand new condition with no blemishes or scratches anywhere and the camera works flawlessly. It was such a great deal I bought two of them and since mine didn't come with lenses which they shouldn't at this great price (they do offer this model refurbished with a kit lens for a great price also) However I preferred and had the option of a choice of lenses to choose from even refurbished ones which also were in new perfect condition and at a great bargain price. These cameras do come with the necessary accessories though a genuine Nikon, battery a genuine Nikon, charger a Nikon, camera strap and all the cables for it. This is what I call the perfect deal and will recommend it to all my friends.

This is a better, easier to use camera than my D3200. I bought the D3200 new, and it had minimal use, and the screen stopped working. I still need to take it to a Nikon dealer to see about getting it fixed, and I will. But buying the refurbished D5100 may turn out to be cheaper than what it will cost me to get the D3200 fixed. If/when I do this, the D3200 will be my backup camera!

I was on a recent shoot with my daughter. Her Nikon 3100 was producing blurry pix. Fortunately, we had a another camera. So I decided to purchase a replacement camera. While searching online, I spotted the ad from Adorama for a refurbished Nikon 5100 body for only $. I read the specifications & it was exactly what I needed & at the right price. I had diffuculty with the cart & had to place the order over the phone. The rep was very professional, courteous, & knowledgeable. It was a seamless process. I paid for the camera & received an email confirmation of my purchase. I also received updates on ETA of delivery along with a tracking number. The camera was packaged neatly & carefully. It was delivered within a few days as promised. I had the opportunity to use it the following day at an event. The camera works well, produces great pix & videos. I am very satisfied with my purchase & would highly recommend Adorama to anyone whether you are an amateur or professional photographer/videographer.

Foi minha primeira DSLR, fiz o upgrade para a D7100 recentemente, excelente câmera para quem está começando e para quem já está em um nível intermediário, nunca deu problema.

I've had a series of digital cameras from the floppy disc Sony to the D5100. Immediately noticed the improved color and resolution with Fall nature pics and Christmas family shots. I used to use Photoshop to hype shots, but need very little editing. I will get the 24 mp D5500 because it should be better for sports and theater work. The mechanical buttons, whistles, are hype and can be bypassed with planning. I do dislike that Nikon has changed the autofocus because I have termendous lenses which are body-controlled. I have passed older models to children and grandchildren andit's wonderful to see the enthusiasm associated with having a solid camera and its nice to share with others.

Its a good camera, compared to my old D70s the metering and color is a noticeable improvement. However I am sad that I went with this modal. It is less pro then the D70s and some features I came to love and use regularly like the LCD panel or the bracket button, OMG I miss the bracket button. You have to jump through 3 flaming hoops to get this one to bracket and its still not really a usable feature. The D750 looks like my dream come true, but I will probably never be able to afford it, so I am sad. I love Nikon, the cameras are great with no complaints, I just made the wrong choice for me. Not an area where saving a buck is worth it I guess.

I am an amature photographer and never owned my own DSLR camera until I purchased this one. It has proven to be a great starter camera. It's easy to use and has some cool features/settings. Some of the negatives is that it only shoots up to 20 minutes of video at a time, even though I'm using a 32GB SD card. When recording video, if it has to refocus it captures the sound of the motor (it's not very loud though). Adjusting the zoom is not smooth.

Bought this for my wife. I feel the 16mp sensor is really a sweet spot for DX in terms of image quality, high ISO performance, and reasonably sized files. Camera is wonderfully compact and light, making it a joy to carry around all day. My wife loves the articulated display, I couldn't care less about it. The built in auto lens distortion control is a God-send for correcting distortion in all the zooms and wides. Only thing I really dislike is the smaller, darker viewfinder, which is the norm for a cropped sensor camera. Overall, a great little camera with awesome image quality.

I have two D90's and wanted to try the D5100. Never could get a feel for it, just didn't work like the D90's. I finally sold it to a friend (his first DSLR). He LOVES it! Go figure. Everyone liked it but me. I must be wrong, wish I had it back now!

I was using this camera for couple of years and it started giving me problem with flash popping up, when I go to service center they said they will give me estimate in couple of days and will send me detail email, but I did not get the response for around 4days, when I called them back they said it will take around couple of more days to know the issue and they will send me email, but after 15minutes Nikon support (Lolitha) called me said issue is fixed and charges are around ($), I was shocked to listen to that, I asked for the estimate and they gave me bill of ($), I said I don't want that repair to be done because I can buy new better external flash with that price, and I declined the service and asked them to give me what is the part and service which costing me ($), then she said they don't have that information they need to contact internal support team and they will get back to me, if you are planning to by this camera please know about this issue which will start in couple of years which is soo soo expensive to repair it.

I am 72 yrs old retired with a LOW budget. The D5100 has the same sensor as the 5200 and even the 5300.i use a 55-200mm a 35mm 1.8 and hope some day to get a 55-300mm,all refrubished and all from Adarama.Pictures of Grandchildern are all outside in natural light or shade. Also love to shoot people pictures with the 55-200mm as well as nature and deer in the area.I shoot In the P mode most of the time

In 2 years camera broke the 3rd time. It gives me 'error . Press shutter release button again' constantly. Estimate fixing is almost the price for a new camera. Junk , switching to Cannon.

Bought this camera because I needed an upgrade from my mirror less. I was extremely impressed with the image quality. I've owned it for almost 4 months now & it still to this day, never fails to amaze me. I fall more in love with it with every use. Awesome for those photography addicts that aren't yet professional - perfect first DSLR.

No mirror-less cameras can touch DSLR. If you're not pro you won't use those settings and buttons anyway, so go as light weight as you can. All Nikon and Canon DSLR take FANTASTIC images. It's up to you as to what is in the picture frame. The camera does not matter, as they all take fantastic images. JUST BUY ONE.

I printed out the complete manual that came on the CD, learned where all of the controls were and took a digital photography class which has got me really comfortable with this camera. I highly recommend that all folks like myself that are new to DSLR cameras and the functions should do this. I know that I am getting so much more out of the creative control functions because I did. I hardly use the auto setting any more. Now it is easy to use, and takes great pictures. I do wish it had a dedicated ISO button. I have assigned the FN button to control the ISO. The kit lens that came with the camera seems to be doing a good job. I bought the 55-200 lens refurbished from the Nikon website. That also works great. I use both lenses regularly. I am so very happy with this camera and the lenses.

I moved up from a D60 to the D5100 and I'm very happy. The outstanding feature of this camera is the image quality and ease of use in a lighter weight package than the d7000 or 7100. This is important to me because my hands get tired of carrying a heavy camera all day due to my carpal tunnel. This is a very ergonomic camera. Focus is fast, white balance and exposure are excellent, leading to very pleasing photos. Color accuracy seems much improved over d60. Live view seems to work fine and that lcd monitor is a thing of beauty. I shoot mainly stills so I won't rate the video. Things I've gained over the d60: Bracketing, Advanced Dynamic Lighting without the noise, Intervalometer, Scene modes, 14 bit processing, Live View, Video (incl. 1080p), 4 fps, higher ISO, great IQ, etc. Things I still miss having : in camera focus motor, dedicated buttons for WB and ISO, wireless flash. I know, it sounds like I want the d7100 series, but I don't want the weight, and wish some of these features would find their way into a beautiful lightweight package like the d5100. For this camera the compromise is easy because it takes beautiful pictures with little effort, and finding my way into the settings via the info button is easy enough. One last thing: I would like to give a huge endorsement to buying the refurbished product from Adorama. Just like new, at a fraction of the price, backed by a warranty and the great customer service of Adorama. Why take chances with buying a used camera from someone you don't know on an auction site. I think I even paid less than what some folks are asking for their used gear. I also assume that factory refurbished will get you the latest software updates, which is always good. Five stars to Adorama!!

I am former Pro who shot many Weddings and Portraits when the D200 was the latest and greatest. I still have several high end lenses from my pro days and was looking for something to use when friends and relatives asked me for portraits. This camera fit the bill perfectly. It's small and light and was much cheaper than the newer consumer level DSLR's. It is not built to withstand weather or everyday shooting. It has some amateur features that I will never use and it lacks all the bells and whistles of the D7000 or D7100, but the image quality is remarkable, especially if you use some good glass. If you don't need pro speed, lots of buttons and pro durability, the image quality will be more than most people will ever need.

Very good images. Easy to use. Easy to access most shooting modes from the back panel. The swivel screen is a must have for self portraits and video. Wish it had 5 exposure bracketing instead of 3 brackets. I really like its small size and light weight. My particular camera has picture control settings that I have to custom set to get decent results. For what you can get this camera for now as a refurbished model ($) currently on Nikon Store..... its a deal that can not be beat anywhere in photographic bang for the buck. Rock on my brothers... if your looking for a rock solid DSLR on a budget look no further.

Nikon's D5100 Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) delivers a galaxy of professional features in a consumer digital camera. A high-resolution 16.2MP DX format CMOS sensor and an EXPEED 2 image processing engine guarantee superb quality and high performance. The 3" vari-angle tilting LCD monitor allows you full freedom in composition, with sparkling 921,000-dot resolution. Full 1920 x 1080p video with full-time autofocus (for tracking subjects in motion) and stereo sound (using optional microphone) is always available, with in-camera editing and creative controls to bring out your inner director.
The Effects mode provides a dazzling array of special effects for putting your own individual stamp on all of your images-still photos or video. Selective Color, for instance, isolates any color within a scene, and Night Vision captures details in places too dark for your own eyes. High Key effect will create bright, glowing images filled with atmosphere and mystery, or you can emphasize the mood of a scene using Low Key, or Miniature Effect-which produces a scene that looks like a miniature scale model.
With sensitivity ranging from 100 to 6400 ISO, you'll be able to make photos and videos that are amazingly rich, even in low light. In-camera HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode will tame high contrast situations by automatically capturing multiple exposures of the scene and combining them for vastly improved contrast and low noise. A blazing fast 11-point autofocus system and split-second shutter response mean that you won't miss photo opportunities waiting for your camera to catch up. The built-in speedlight has i-TTL for accurate, well-balanced flash every time.
With the Scene Recognition system, 420-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix Metering II, 16 automatic exposure scene modes, and Active D-Lighting, your control over your photos and movies will be more precise and simple to carry out than ever. The automatic image sensor cleaning prevents dust from ruining any of your images.
