As someone starting out in photography, I have to say this camera is easy to use! Granted I am still learning the ins and outs of it, but it has been great! The Nikon D-5200 is light and easy to handle. I would certainly recommend this camera!

This is my 2nd Nikon D5200 camera. I really like the camera, for me it is very easy to use and it produces outstanding images. I really like the tilt screen on the back of the camera, it has helped me produce photos that I would have missed because of the difficult angles and terrain. I have used it in all types of weather and I has never let me down. Adorama was great to order from, their shipping was fast and their service was great.

I bought this unit a few years ago. It replaced my D5000. Loved the former, but wanted the 24Mp and the 2 lens kit (18x55mm & 55-300mm). I have owned Nikons since 1986 (N2020), D50, D70, D90 D40 .... they are all great. Yes, My Blood bleeds Nikon!!! This one does everything seamlessly. It is my primary camera for selling on eBay. It's lightweight, shoots quick and fast, and the auto-focus in video mode is what the D5000 lacked. You can't go wrong with this model. Complaints? Just one. The internal microphone can't handle outdoor noise when the wind is blowing. Best you get an external mic if you are shooting in those conditions. Overall, 5 stars!!!

I bought this camera refurbished. It is like new, probably more tested. Nikon always is great. No regrets. Buy one if you want to be a photographer.

this camera fits my needs. has a good sensor and articulating screen. it has functions of the higher level Nikon's at a more affordable price point. we all should be spending on the lenses and using better techniques to learn. eyepiece a little small for me, but O.K. does not have GPS, but do not use that on my current camera that has it. light, since their is no focus motor in the body (a plus for me). refurbished, and came looking as new. would purchase again..

I've owned Nikon cameras since the mid 70's, because they are the best cameras and lenses, my opinion. And yes, they only used film back then, no digital. When the change over to digital happened, I was slow to switch over but now these highly developed cameras are an engineering marvel to me. The images they capture are superb. I'm sure other brands are as good, but I guess I'm just brand loyal, why switch. Did I mention that my new Nikon D5200 was a Refurbed unit? Always bought new. I couldn't find a scratch, dent or ding anywhere on it. Thought there might be. Most importantly, it works flawlessly. I'm totally satisfied with the camera and Adorama Camera customer service walking me through the ordering process.

I came to this site while browsing the internet for a nicely priced refurbished camera. I needed it for school and knew owning a camera would be beneficial to my major. I absolutely love it!!!!!! It's perfect. I love using it and learning more about the different features it has. The only thing is that the Nikon strap sucks, but I didn't buy it for the straps so those can be replaced. Overall, best purchase ever.

I received the camera but the tape to hang the camera is bad, Chinese origin that does not even say Nikon on the leash.

Bought for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. Still learning the camera, but so far my biggest complaint is the f stop can't be adjusted. The ease of adjusting the iso is also awkward. Hopefully as he works with the camera more it will get better.

For a journalist (not pro), this camera has all the features and quality needed for print pubs. The 1080p 60i video is great for uploading to news web page, and the mic jack is handy for street interviews. 24mp allows cropping while retaining image quality. No complaints so far.

I bought the red version of the 5200 Refurbished. No evidence at all that camera was ever used. No damage, no missing parts. Takes awhile to learn the placement and functions of all the buttons, and that is necessary even if used in 'auto' mode primarily. My biggest complaint is the abysmal battery life. If one uses flash even occasionally, and plays back the photos a few times, the battery just drains out. And you cannot leave the 'on-off' switch 'on' for longer than a few seconds. So I had to buy 2 more batteries and a second charger, adding to the bulk, weight and hassle of carrying this camera. On the plus side, photos are sharp, color is accurate, and the 5 fps feature is fun for sports and animal photography.

This SLR is excellent in every respect except one. It does not charge its battery when connected to the USB port of your computer. Many other cameras, even cheaper Nikons (CoolPix for one which I also own) do this but this one doesn't. It is a constant scenario with me that after I connect my camera to my PC and download and edit/sort/store my photos I forget to turn off the camera. The battery will continue to run down even though it is doing nothing and is connected to the PC. Then, when I need my camera for a picture, I find the battery dead. This is INCREDIBLY DUMB and has cost me many cool photos because I don't have a backup battery.

I got this camera for sports and travel and I love it. It works great for indoor and outdoor photos and is amazing for travel due to its small size. The battery life is really good and the controls are also pretty easy to get used too.

Great Beginners/ Advanced Beginners Purchase

When I purchased the D5200, I had never owned a DSLR or even a point and shoot, but I had done thorough research and figured out that this was the camera for me. This camera far exceeded my expectations: the 24 MP captures immense detail, the 1080p/60 fps recording is awesome (the fps is high enough to even get a little slow mo action going), the flip out screen is nice for those up high/ down low shots, and the list goes on. I was (and still am) very happy with my purchase, and my photograph...

I bought this camera in November of 2013. This is my first DSLR camera. I had used a Nikon d90 back in 2011,and I fell in love with the brand. I use to use film when I was younger, and wanted to branch out to the digital era. The camera took a bit of getting use to, but it has been the best purchase I have ever made. Since then I have bought several lenses for it, and now own a small photography business. This is a great camera, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for one.
