I have read some bad reviews for the 7200. I can only speak for myself. I am an amateur mostly landscape photographer (with a professional advertising background). I personally love my 7200. I've had it for a few years now and use it like a workhorse. I even dropped it and had to replace the back screen (myself). It still works great. There are more options than I will ever use with this camera. I strickly shoot in RAW so man y of the functions I will never use. I have shot JEPG a few times and they co0me out great but I like the control and processing capabilities of RAW. I loved the 7200 so much I stayed in the family and just bought the 7500. I am hoping I have the same results. I needed another camera box but didn't want to have to buy new lenses. I also wanted the tilt screen. Another improvement I like on the 7500 is the ability to change ISO with new button on top right. Quick and easy. There are a few more features I like as well. The tilt touch screen and shoot by using touch screen was one of the main reasons I bought the 7500. I'm not sure if I will miss the two card slots that are on the 7200. Time will tell as will the drop in pixels. But I really like the tilt screen addition on the 7500. Getting harder to carry a step ladder and get up off the ground. I also got tired of switching lenses on location. Those are the two main reasons I added the 7500. If the 7500 overall is nearly as good as the 7200 I will be in photography heaven. See some of my 7200 pics attached.

The best SLR camera I have used. I have shot over 10,000 images on my D7200 over 10 years. The D7200 worked after I fell in mud in a forest. The D7200 worked after cleaning mud off the D7200. I did send the D7200 to Nikon New York for cleaning and testing. Have over 500 shots after cleaning and all is OK.

Image quality wise one of the best APS-C cameras ever made for a reason. There is still room to grow - for example missing histogram preview in LiveView, very basic and uncompetitive AF-fine-tune, less usable auto-iso function because the algorithm is only two dimensional (Shutter speed x ISO) instead of three dimensional (+ focal length), poor JPG quality .. But strengths of this camera outweigh cons: class leading aps-c sensor with awesome Dynamic Range and true ISO invariant up to ISO ~1600, proven ergonomics with two dials and configurable fn buttons, IQ on par or even better as basically all mid-range full frame cameras to the date. I have multiple Nikon cameras including D810 but my trusty D7200 is my primary choice for landscape photography when doing longer trip or hike in rough terrain. Basically in general with same (FX) glasses it's impossible find difference in IQ to other 24MP fullframe counterparts even with pixel peeping.

I have used Nikon cameras for many years, both at work and at home. I am mostly an APS-C/DX guy, for reasons of telephoto reach and economy. For many years my home/family camera was a D3100. It is also a great camera, being compact and capable, but lacks just a few of the advanced features which come with the D7200. When I heard that the D7500 was coming out, it actually prompted me to jump on the D7200. I have had great success with the D7200 and the fact that it will broaden the number and types of lenses I can use with full AF capability really helps. I also really like the dual media card slots in this camera and the locking focus point. High-speed synch hasn't become a need for me yet, but it's good to know that it's there if I need it. This will be my go-to camera for many years.

I am enjoying the D7200 more than any other Nikon I have owned. I am an amateur wildlife photographer. I have won a few awards in state contests with pictures I have taken with this camera. The weather resistant body is such a necessary feature as I hike about on scenic trails and hide in bird blinds. The images are sharp and as I progress with learning to adjust the settings, I am post processing less than ever. The size is just right for handling a 600 mm lens with ease. I also use a 50 mm lens for real estate photography.I am so pleased with this camera, I purchased a second one!

I do a lot of travel, landscape and natural surroundings photography. The D7200 is perfect in all of these types of photography because of its lightweight, small body. It takes all of my dozen or so lenses that are comprised of FX & DX. 13"X19" prints look as good as ones shot with my Z7 or D810. What's more, a D7200 kit is comparable to a Z6 kit albeit DX. But that D7200 sensor looks so good to me that this purchase is actually my second body to replace my first D7200 should it ever need repair or replacement. I also have a D500 for walk-around, Birding & wildlife and sports/action. But for landscapes and scenics I love the D7200.

I bought a refurbished model from here that works as I expected but for one little problem. I don't know how Nikon missed it but switching out the battery causes it to reset the clock every time. I didn't opt to have it replaced or refunded by Adorama because it came with only 24 shutter clicks. i'll just send it in to Nikon for warranty work and hope they fix it for good.

I purchased this camera as an upgrade to my D3300 and I couldn't be happier. The 2 SD cards slot's are a bonus and as for my photos they look great. I paired it with the Tamron 18 -400 lens and it's a great match.

I had spent several years dreaming of this camera and it has lived up to my expectations. I have so much to learn and this camera has the depth to work at different levels. I have owned cameras most of my life but this is different in the sense that this is a small computer that takes pictures and has the facility to help you take better and more interesting pictures. Now I just need to find a refurbished 18-140 lens…..

It was as expected. No negative issues at all. If you are a full frame user looking for that extra reach without sacrificing image quality, this is a great choice.

I love this camera. My biggest concern was that it was refurbished but it came in great condition and every little button and dial works great. Second biggest concern was that upgrading would not lead to much improvement in my photography ( as many Photographers love to tout). I must say, in this situation, that is not the case. I came from a D3300 that was a workhorse for the last five years and did me proud. But the D7200 in the past 2 weeks has allowed me to do things that I could only dream about with my last camera. From increased low light performance to built in HDR and bracketing, this thing makes life so much easier. Glad I made the purchase.

The D7200 is durable, sturdy, it feels great in my hands, and I have large hands like an NBA player. The images generated by this 24-megapixel sensor are stunning indeed. I can't wait to purchase more pedigree lenses to gain the full scope of this camera body, D7200.

Couldn't be happier, camera came quickly, I couldn't find a mark on it. When I checked the shutter count I was pleasantly surprised, it was only 160. I have a D7100 and wasn't expecting a huge improvement in picture quality, but I have notice the improved dynamic range. Low light auto focus much better also. Still playing with it but so far I'm glad I upgraded

Great service from Adorama. I cannot tell the camera was refurbished. It looks brand new. I am just getting use to all the bells and buttons. This is a definite upgrade from my D5100. I have never been disappointed with Nikon products.

I haven't had a chance to use this D7200 so I can't rate it.I was wondering if it was supposed to come with cards in it. The D7500 did. Thank you

I purchased a D3300 for my girlfriend for her birthday. I purchased a D7100 used for myself after seeing the quality of her pictures. I was impressed with the features of the 7100 and am a rookie so there was a medium learning curve. I then purchased a D7200 after 3 months new because I wanted the few extra features like nef and onboard wifi along with the extra exposure stop. After 6 months of using both cameras I'm taking pictures everyone oh and ah's about. I'm basically a landscape and macro addict except the new grandbaby has made me improve my skills in people photography.. I love the fact that the D7200 is compatible with lenses in the legacy category. The only complaint I have is the camera's sensor is so good that believe it or not that sometimes can cause problems because of rookies lack of understanding of how a quality sensor works compared to a cheaper or less dense pixel sensor. So I guess there are no real complaints. LOL If you just want to take snapshots I recommend a D3000 series or D5000 series. If you want to be truly serious and become a creative photographer or take extremely complicated hdr images this camera can take you as far as you want to go. Also they are a bargain price wise since the introduction of the D7500

I had a Nikon D3400 for 18 months. I wanted something better that also had auto bracketing. I had looked at the D7500 but to gain speed they reduced the sensor down to 20 megapixel. Wanting the full 24.2 megapixel I choose the D7200. I bought a Nikon refurbished unit and its awesome. Had only 72 shutter counts on it so basically its brand new at a great price. The options on the D7200 are so much more advanced than the D3400.

I love this camera! I was really hesitant to buy a refurbished camera, but due to budget restraints, I decided to try it. I was needlessly worried about a high shutter count, it is practically brand new. No blemishes, no problems that I have found so far. I went from a D3200 to this one. I absolutely love it!

As a Nikon user in personal and commercial photography for many years, I lost a complete D810 FX system (and much more) in the Paradise California Camp Fire. A group of photographers gifted me with a Nikon DX D7000, a number of lenses and accessories, all used but in very nice condition. I had not planned to return to the DX sensor again, but was quite comfortable in doing so, given the quality of images produced by this series of cameras, and not being able at the time to rebuild a complete FX system. I became a serious DX sensor shooter once again. The D7000 works well and I offer my deep thanks to the photographers who became my photo angels after the loss of all of my equipment on November 8, 2018. The D7000 is a 16 mp sensor which I came into it after being used to shooting with 24 and 36 mp camera bodies. After significant research looking at the D7200 vs. the D7500, I decided to upgrade to the D7200, 24 mp and improved processing engine over the older D7000. I have found the D7200 to be a highly worthwhile camera for the photography I am now doing, stills, no video. The resolution gain over the D7000 is noticeable. The images are crisp and most workable in Photoshop CC which I use for my editing. This camera accepts almost any DX lens I can throw on it, and like any other DX format body, can use compatible FX lenses with conversion for the format change. As a long time Nikon film then digital user, the functions are familiar and I needed no learning curve to have it immediately used daily. I am now thoroughly documenting the Town of Paradise, CA, and all the changes it is continually going through as a result of the fire, as well as my own artistic creations which I have done for many years. From day 1, this new D7200 has not missed a beat and has returned toward the high end images I was producing with the D810, although the full frame does offer subtle advantages over the DX sensor. This camera and my now backup D7000 will serve my needs for a long time to come. One concern... The new Nikon AF-P lenses do not focus in auto or manual mode on any of the D-7xxx cameras older than the most recent D-7500. For Nikon to have brought out a new lens not compatible with the older bodies is frustrating. The newer camera that does accept new AF-P lens series is lower resolution than the D-7200. Despite being from the previous generation of Nikon DX cameras, I opted for the D-7200 for higher resolution I used prior to the fire. All of my current DX lenses work without issues on the D-7200. Make no mistake, this is a high end camera easily capable of commercial quality work. This camera reliably fills my photo needs, continually producing top quality images under a wide variety of conditions. Purchased new, the price from Adorama is certainly a plus. I highly recommend it for anyone looking at DX sensor cameras.

A great camera in all respects
By Wings42
When my D7000 died from overuse, I was tempted to "upgrade" to a D750, but decided to buy the D7200 because I loved the D7000 so much. It was an excellent decision. As great as the D7000 was, the D7200 is better: a bit lighter weight, quicker focusing, better low light performance, less photo noise, better moving object tracking, bigger burst shooting buffer, quicker shot buffer clearing, more shots per battery charge, etc. It is at least as easy to use and change settings as the D7000 was, ...

Everything we hoped it would be

My wife and I operate an athletic events photo business. Although we started out with the D1, D2, D200, D300 and D700, we had found the D7000 and d7100 bodies, because of their versatility and lightness (some of our events last 17 hours), were perfect for our work. The D7200 is even better ... everything we hoped it would be. Our new bodies caught up with us at our hotel the day before a big weekend event. We ended up shooting nearly 8,000 frames on the two bodies during a weekend of documen...
