The eyepiece does as advertised. It does magnify image in the viewfinder. Simple and effective upgrade for the camera. Using it on a Nikon D3500.

It works great with my D7000! Like it's name describes, the Magnifying Eyepiece will make what you see through the viewfinder appear larger. It makes it easier to see and reduces eye strain. Attention fellow glasses wearers: The magnifying eyepiece has worked well and I like it. However, in some situations I need to move the camera (or my head) to be able to see the indicator display (I rarely need to look at the display anyway), so that's not a big deal to me. I wish I would have bought this years ago!

If using a manual focus lens, this will provide a decent magnification to assist with making sure you nail the focus before hitting that shutter button.

This eyepiece makes shooting in manual focus alot easier to see how in focus you are, as well as extending the eyepiece back from the body slightly crushing your nose a bit less against the LCD.

I bought this magnifier cause Im getting old and cant see as well through my D5100 view finder anymore. Bummer I know. Anyway my camera isnt mentioned in the list of cameras that can be used on this product. But it works! On my 5100 I have the little diop controller on the view finder, its in the way. You cant put the DK-21M on the traditional way, top to bottom cause the diop controller is in the way. But I put it on from bottom to top and it works TERRIFICALLY WELL! The diop controller is barely in the way. I focused it in and I can see much better. I highly recommend this for D5100 users as well.

At first I was skeptical but this little guy actually works really well, after using it for a year now, I hate not having it, I feel like I have to squint if I'm not using it. Definitely helps you achieve your focusing points easier, faster and with less hassle.

It only improved the image quality very little. When I look through this viewfinder I still strain my eyes, parts of the view look blurry I cannot be certain whether or not the whole picture is completely in focus. My pictures are still blurry and not the crystal clear full detailed image that I need. Not in the least bit happy with this product or Nikon as a whole.

Just bought it today and was installed in-store on my D7100. I immediately noticed I could actually now see the info at the bottom of the viewfinder instead of just blurs. Also helps keep my face from smearing up the big lcd screen. Two birds down with one new eyepiece. As much as I like it, $30 is still $30. Half that would have been better. It's staying on my camera full time. Easy to install. Does what it says.

No longer need eyeglasses for shooting...this works very well when optimized by D600 eyepiece diaopter adjustment. Whole frame and shooting info is more visible. Only improvement would be slightly larger eye cup. Does the job and you'll never know its there!

PROS: Bigger image. You can read the data in the viewfinder on baseline CONS: Little eyepiece glass so you need to put your eye very close. Poor eyepiece ergonomic design, it can be fall out.

I just put this eyepiece on my D5100, and though it does not make a huge difference, it is significant enough to make it well worth the few dollars it costs, and a very welcome upgrade to my D5100. It really helps to focus on long zoom shots. It stands about 1/4 inch further back than the rubber eyepiece that comes on the camera, which is also better; it gets your face off of the monitor screen. And in contrast to what I've read on some reviews from other websites, it does not take away from the area of view of the viewfinder; at least not on the D5100. I can easily see the entire rectangle, and what's inside it, better than without it. It is now a permanent part of my D5100; I will never take it off!!!

This eyepiece magnifies what you see by a factor of 1.17x. Meaning, whatever you see in the viewfinder will be magnified by 17%. Unfortunately, the DK-21M viewing hole is a lot SMALLER than the original viewfinder which I find strange because the reason people buy this is to get a bigger, better , crisper and an unobstructed view of the image being composed , eg. like on a D700 upwards. Is this a design flaw? The 17% magnification also obscures some corners of the image in the viewfinder depending on the placement of your eye. I bought it, used it once and now it just sits in my bag. It's an accessory that you might want to skip. Regards from Malaysia :)
