Deckhand D : Is this battery a NIKON OEM brand or is it a facsimile, knock off etc?Clifford T : the price says its a nikon OEM brand
Donnie D : i have 4 nimh batteries for my d1x that want hold any kind of lengthy charge,is there any way to rejuvenate these batteries?yesTERESA B : I have found that when not in use the EN-4 does not hold a charge very well, whether it's in the camera or out, the battery discharges. If I haven't used my batteries or charged them in a ten day period, I charge them before I go out on a job. Here's a suggestion from the book The D1 Generation by Moose Press that also helps-- When you purchase a new battery to get maximum performance 'refresh' the battery 3 consecutive times before using it. To do this, connect the EN-4 to the MH-16 charger, depress the Refresh button on the charger, then when its finished, depress it again, and then refresh one more time in the same way. If you have not done this, do it now. Once this is done, refresh your EN-4 once every ten charges , and if your EN-4 has sat idle for a month, make sure to recharge (not refresh) it prior to use. I have follow this advice, and I have lengthy charges on batteries that are over 3 years old. Hope this helps.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, to the best of my knowledge there is no way to rejuvenate a NiMH unit once it has reached the end of its service life. Keep in mind that NiMH batteries (like most rechargeable batteries) have an absolute limit to the number of charge/discharge cycles that they can endure.

Works Well

The battery works well but beware of counterfeits. When shopping eBay make sure you find a real one. I also wish this battery fit other cameras.

Once they start going downhill, it's time to buy new ones.

Good Battery

Use battery as replacement for older Nikon battery. Had a generic replacement that almost ruined the camera. Battery life not the best but it works well on the D1X.

Good while it lasts

My batteries had consistent regular use by a full time pro over a year long period. After about a year or so, the batteries would say they had a full charge, but would only yield a few shots at best. At the end, they simply wouldn't power the camera at all, but still showed a full charge. However, new they charge quickly and last a long time.
