Beware d500 owners - recently purchased a used d500 and have become extremely disappointed in the battery. An 01 version of the battery came with the d500 and since I am not the initial owner I will have to purchase a newer 02 version to correct a Nikon issue. I have generic en-el15 batteries used with my d7200 which worked just fine and use these with the d500 I just have to change frequently. The camera has "locked" up when the power level gets to a single bar - have to replace with a charged battery to basically reboot. Other than the battery issue the d500 is a fine camera.

I have a D500. Don't know of any alternatives other that adding a battery grip, and that's too expensive for me. The battery was down to 20% (life remaining) after 2 hours and 650 snaps. On my D7000 the battery lasted a whole lot longer.

I bought the Nikon version of this battery as I felt it would last longer than a 3rd party version. It seems to charge fast and gives me plenty of shooting time before having to recharge again.

My previous Camera was a D5300 which uses a EN EL 14. My new camera D500 uses EN EL 15. As it is a bigger battery with a bigger capacity, i hoped some more juice from it. But its frustrated me. Same use, same shooting style like my old D5300, its last only one day. When D5300 with a EN EL 14 lasts like 4/5 days. I naver use the touch function of my D500, Bluetooth is always off, i never use live view, and all timers are shortest, like monitor, standby etc. When fully charged i can get 1000 shots in 20 minutes in brust with 80% remaining. But in a whole day shooting i can get 300/350 shots, and then its over. I am not sure i got a faulty one, or this model all are like this.

I recently purchased the Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery Pack for my D600, and I am very pleased with it. It fits the camera like a glove, and makes taking portrait style (vertical) photos a breeze, no more have one elbow/arm raised above my head to take those shots. Plus, my hands are on the large size, and it made the camera fit in my hand so much nicer. before I got the battery pack, my thumb at the back of the camera would accidentally hit the rear dial and change the shutter speed, and most of the tome,,I was not aware of it until after I looked at the photos. Since I installed the battery pack, that has not happened at all, so pleased with that. I highly recommend the Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery Pack,and I would certainly buy it again.

I ordered a Nikon D810 rated E- so I expected a great camera with a couple dings. The body was in great shape but I noticed the battery had separated. The Nikon brand holds a charge significantly longer than the generic. The generic also would not charge fully. I am easily getting twice the useful charge from the Nikon.

After Amazon changed delivery date many times i decided its time to try Adorama store. The order came like in 2 days with free shipping. I've found that with Nikon cameras (the only ones I use) that a Nikon specific battery always lasts longer in both with each charge and in the overall lifetime of the battery.

I wanted an extra battery for the Nikon 7200 I just purchased. After reading reviews on Amazon's and Adorama's web site, I decided to purchase the Nikon battery as opposed to a one from a third party manufacturer. I have tried the less expensive versions of the Nikon battery and all have fallen short. They seem to work fine for the first month, but after that they start fading fast. The Nikon battery will give you optimal performance for at least the first year and if you are an average user much longer. In the long run you will spend less on the Nikon battery as you will not have to replace them. In my opinion the battery is not the place to look for the least expensive item. Love the Nikon EN-EL-15
